Christmas Shopping!
These are the things that I bought my family for Christmas this year! Don't worry, none of them read my blog, so the surprise won't be ruined Christmas morning.
On my Christmas Shopping List:
First up, my oldest brother Jamie. Jamie and I aren't very close, but I still thought I'd go with a gag gift. We have a running joke between us about how he's a die-hard Justin Bieber fan. In reality, he hasn't actually heard any JBiebs songs ever. So of course...I bought him Justin Bieber's CD, My World 2.0. I hope he enjoys it.
For my sister, Kim, I got a nice scarf and gloves set. She's a student too, so it's the little things that count when you're working 24/7 and impoverished. I couldn't find a photo of it...but it's pretty average. Bought at the fabulous bargain metropolis that is Walmart.
George and Jenna get a joint gift, and I love it so much, I want one for me. They're getting CRAZY FORTS. It's this nifty little kit that reminds of those tinker toys that you could build things out of. It's basically a box of plastic sticks that plug into holes on plastic balls, and can be built up to form the framework of a totally awesome pillow fort. After you build the framework, you just drape your sheets on top. Back in my day, we used to use every chair in the house, the top of the piano, and a vacuum cleaner to get a nice fort. But now these kids just need this simple kit. I might go buy one for me.
Thomas is an engineering student, and I wanted something that says "I like you a lot, but we've only been together for two and a half months, so not too serious quite yet". And I found it. Presenting BuckyBalls. Seriously. This things are addicting to play with. When we did our gift exchange a few nights ago, we both had fun fiddling with them, and they are ridiculous! They're powerful little magnets, and you can make tons of shapes, and kneading them with your fingers is possibly the best stress ball ever invented. They aren't cheap, but they're worth the money.
My mom is getting a little older, and her hair is starting to thin out. It doesn't cause her a whole ton of trouble yet, except for her eyebrows. They're thinning in the middle, which leaves kind of a bald spot. I'm told this is fairly common for middle aged women. So for Christmas, I got her Brow Set from MAC in Beguile. It's pretty much mascara for your brows. She'll love it.
I got my father a nice, plain dress shirt from Sears. That way he can look fancy at work.
Best of luck with all your Christmas Shopping!
