Happy Halifax and Glymm Box March '12

Today, it seemed like the whole city just came to life. Halifax hit temperatures of 26 degrees today, and everyone swarmed out of their sad, dark houses to be in the happy, bright sun. The campus came alive. One of my profs called class early because we were in the basement of the most depressing building on campus and he didn't want to be there. It's magnificent.

Oh, and yesterday I got my SECOND Glymm box! I wish I was more excited about it. It had some shipping problems this month, even though it went to the exact same place as *last* month, but that's an honest mistake. Customer service got it worked out, and it is here! I was going to do a video about it...but with the beautiful weather and all my schoolwork, a regular ol' blog seemed like the way to go. Enjoy!

The first thing is a set of three bright red hair extensions, made from human hair, by NuMe. Fancy. This is a full size product, and retails for $25. They're dyed to look like the hair feathers that were so popular last summer. Actually, last summer I really wanted hair feathers, but I wanted the feathers, not the hair. Oh well. My only problem is that they're hard to put in unless you have a needle threader or other such apparatus. Oh, and I tried to heat style one after I put it in because the super straight feathers didn't really go well with my super curly hair, and it didn't really do anything. It's still stick straight, even though the website says you can heat style them. Dang. It also came out after a few minutes, but I'm going to say that it was my fault that happened, and I'll give it another shot. Really, I'm not sure why Glymm gave us this, because it seems like something that not many people will like. My mom got the same thing and she wasn't pleased. I dunno, it was a gamble, and I don't think it paid off.

Not-really-feather extensions

Next is an itty bitty jar of M. Asam Perfect Teint. The cute tub has 5mL, and the full-size has 50mL and is $42. This is a white cream, and it is really interesting. It feels like magic when you put it on. It's smooth and silky, and simply fabulous. It blends out clear and makes my skin feel great. Butttt....it's an anti-aging product. Because I haven't yet hit 20, I feel like it's wasted on me. I don't really need my fine lines filled in, because I don't have any. Also, it smells like Play-doh. But it feels so great! I'm not sure what to think of it, because it is so nice, but I have no way of telling you if it provides results or not. *sigh* On the site, you tell them your age when you order, so I would think that they would know that I didn't need wrinkle cream. Dang.

The next thing was also a tub of an M. Asam produc, but this one was Magic Fini. You get 5mL, and the full size is $38 for 30mL. When I first opened this, it was dark. Being the most pale white girl out of all of my friends, I got a little nervous. Never fear, however! It blends out to be perfectly flesh toned on me. I can barely tell it's on by the color. Like the Perfect Teint, it goes on like a dream. Silky smooth, blending flawlessly into your skin. It also has the mysterious Play-doh scent. The directions said to apply to the whole face, and after much consideration, I decided that this product was most similar to a BB Cream. It provides some coverage, but not as much as a foundation or a concealer. Today, because it was just so nice, I managed to get away with wearing only the Magic Fini, plus a little concealer on the blemishes, with no foundation. Finally, a little dab will do you. I think my 5mL sample will last a really long time, which is always nice to see in a product. I really love this product. I don't know if I'm completely committed, but it feels like heaven, so the next time I need to take the plunge into BB creams, this will be my choice.

Finally, the last product was a full-sized nail polish by Ocean (never heard of them) in the color Catwalk Crimson. It's a deep, deep red. It applied really well. It wasn't streaky or too thin. It smells terrible though. You really need a well ventilated area to apply this in. I don't really have much else to say, it's a typical nail polish. It's not better or worse than any of my other nail polishes, but it goes on nice, so it's definitely a keeper. :) This bad boy is 15mL and costs $12. That $12 price tag is a bit more than I pay for my nail polishes now, so I'm not thinking that this will be a regular purchase, especially when I can get Essie for cheaper, closer to my house.

Two coats, plus a topcoat. Sorry about my finger, they get pretty beat up at the lab.

All things considered, I paid a whopping $11.50 for this box, and the things inside it are worth $47.53. That's a pretty good deal! I'm pleased. Not as pleased as I was last month, but I'll be looking forward to next month's box for sure.

That was my Glymm box! I hope wherever you are is as nice and warm as the city is! :)
I'd love to hear from you <3
