Review: Essence All Eyes on Me Mascara
Recently, I misplaced my usual Maybelline Great Lash mascara, and had to find a quick replacement at my local drugstore. As I was wandering the aisles looking for something that I could pick up in a hurry, I saw a display by German brand Essence, and they had mascaras ranging in price from $1 to $5. That seemed like a pretty good price, and I was in a bit of a rush, so I grabbed it and ran out the door. The one I got was called
All Eyes on Me Multi-Effect. It’s pretty awesome.
I was pleasantly surprised by this mascara. Not only did it only run me $1.99, it lasts the whole day without smudging. I find that even with my Lancôme mascaras, I often end up with raccoon eyes by the end of the day. It was really great to hit the jackpot with this one. It also doesn’t flake off in the middle of the day, so it’s definitely long wearing.
In terms of cons, I definitely have to curl my lashes before putting this on, because it doesn’t provide any kind of hold. It also needs a few coats built on to achieve the kind of look I expect, even from Maybelline and Covergirl mascaras. Three coats later, I’m left with the kind of look that I want. Although, as you’re building it up, it does tend to not clump, this is a definite bonus.
This product is also not tested on animals, which is always a good thing. So, if you’re looking for something cheap and good, definitely pick this one up. I think it’s available in Canada at all Shoppers Drug Marts.
