SAG Style
I never
ever watch the SAG awards. The next day, I creep the winners and the fashion and go on my merry way. During award season there’s just a few too many for a girl to keep up with, y’know? But it does give another good hint at the Oscars. Argo won, Anne Hathaway won, and Jennifer Lawrence won. No real surprises. I didn’t even feel that there was a major upset in the winners. It seemed like a predictable evening. The fashion was still hot though. Here are my top five best-dressed ladies.
Amanda Seyfried looked really sleek and polished in her sapphire blue gown. I like the coordinating necklace and long loose waves. Given, the hair and makeup isn’t a change-up from anything she normally does, but the overall effect is pleasing.
I watch Mad Men, and I love how
Elisabeth Moss has definitely taken a dive away from the frumpy Peggy Olsen. She looked positively hot in her black cocktail dress. Simply fantastic.
Jennifer Lawrence has become one of my style favourites for being always classy and never overdone this awards season. Apparently there was an alleged wardrobe malfunction with this dress that was explained away, but it doesn’t really matter to me; she looked great. The colour was really close to Amanda's too. Maybe navy is making a comeback? Did it ever leave?
Child actors don’t usually make best-dressed lists because they have to walk a very thin line between looking mature and age-appropriate. No one likes it when kids are dressed up too young or too old, especially when they're in the public eye.
Kiernan Shipka hit the nail on the head, I think. She looks pretty, and polished, but it’s not too cutesy. The pairing of the embellished tea-length skirt with the peep toe heels was an excellent choice.
Oh
Viola Davis. I feel like she’s everyone’s friend. She also really popped up the colour this time. The bright seafoamy one-shoulder is amazing on her, and I love the matching bracelet. Tidy, but also fun, and vibrant.
Did you watch the SAGs? What did you think of it?
