Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick

Swatched here on my ungodly pale skin.
I try a lot of lip products, and most of them are just okay. This one is not. It’s wonderful. I was on the fence for a long time about whether I wanted to buy a Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain, having heard really mixed things from both bloggers and friends. I was standing in the line at Ulta, and they were on sale, and I just grabbed one. It cost $6.99.  The colour that I picked up is called Lovesick. I really like that in French it’s called passionee. It’s a bright fuchsia, and is certainly eye catching.

I love this. I was extremely apprehensive about it drying my lips out. Stains I’ve used in the past have caused my lips to get patchy and gross looking, mostly because they’re already pretty dry. This isn’t drying at all.  I wouldn’t call it moisturising, but it didn’t get patchy throughout the day.

Does it really stain? Yes. Yes it does. I put this on at 7 this morning to go to work, and it’s now 8:30 at night, and I still like the way it looks. I’ve had both water and soda, and eaten two meals, and the colour is still there! Brilliant.  It adds that nice pop of colour and it stays on the whole day! It’s nice and glossy when you first put it on, and this fades away, but the colour will remain.

The fat chubby little pencil makes gliding it on a breeze. It twists up, so as I wear it down, it doesn’t need to be sharpened. Something about sharpening “soft” cosmetics seems wasteful to me. It’s also incredibly easy to toss into your purse when you’re on the go, although you definitely need a mirror to apply this.

If there is something bad to say about this, it is that it has a pretty strong peppermint smell. Honestly, it’s rather off-putting. The smell doesn’t stick around though. I found that it had faded away within five or ten minutes. It is really obvious when you’re applying it though.

I can’t get enough of this. I’ve been wearing it to work over the past few weeks and getting a ton of compliments. I also tend to dress conservatively around the office, so I feel like this adds that young flair. I’ve heard that the shade Honey is also great, so I might be snagging that one soon!

After TEN hours of wear!
