Topbox: October 2013

I’ve been super busy with midterms this week, is I haven’t had much to time to blog. Today, however, I received my October Topbox and needed to tell you about it.

This month there were a lot of different choices for special prive Topboxes, but I decided to stick it out with the regular one, and I am so glad that I did. As people started getting their boxes this month, they all seemed really disappointed, so I had prepared myself mentally to be let down.

But once again, a great month.

My regular Topbox turned out to be by Murale by Shoppers Drug Mart. First, look at this tube. It’s adorable. I plan on cutting off the Murale part at the top at using it as a pen holder on my desk. There aren’t any makeup products inside, but there are four awesome skincare products that I can’t wait to try out. Every single product is from a brand that you hear about so much and can trust. There isn’t a Murale near me, and for several reasons I'll mention later I don't think I'll be shopping off their website.

The prices weren’t listed on the card this time, so I based my calculations off of the Murale website.
.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution

Sensibio H2O micelle solution gently cleanses face and eyes and removes water-resistant make-up in ONE simple step.

I have been dying to try this for so long, but hadn’t bitten the bullet and just bought it. This is the perfect size to tuck into my bag for Thanksgiving vacation at 100mL. I’ve heard so many great things about this. You really hit the ball out of the park, Topbox.

250mL for $22

I received one 100mL bottle = $8.80

Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream
Moisturization, softness and youth...all combined in this antioxidant cream made from orange pulp for silky-smooth and protected hands. Leaves no greasy film.

This smells so good. I like to take care of my hands, and I am always on the hunt for a new hand cream. I love Caudalie, and this is awesome. It really doesn’t leave a greasy film, completely disappearing into your hands while leaving them astonishingly soft.

75mL is $19

I received a 15mL tube = $3.80

L’Occitane Immortelle Precious Eye Balm

A light daily balm with proven firming benefits for the eye contour. Dark circles and Puffiness are less visible.

Another great-smelling product. I don’t have any issues with puffiness, but I do have bad dark circles and dryness under my eyes. It does seem really thick, but L’Occitane hasn’t failed me yet.

15mL is $42

I received 5mL = $14 (whoa)

Skyn Iceland Pure Cloud Cream with Arctic Berries and Peptides

Light-as-air daily moisturizing cream to hydrate, soothe and protect severely dry, sensitive skin.

I’ve got dry skin like nobody’s business, especially as the weather turns cold. I have a good friend who swears by Skyn, so we’ll see if this is a winner. Downside: for a daily moisturizer, this doesn’t have any SPF, which is what I prefer. Oh well. Maybe they don’t have sunshine in Iceland (kidding).

50mL of this will set you back $71.50

My little tube is 10mL, worth $14.30.

So this box was worth a ton. Altogether, I spent $13.80 for $40.90 worth of stuff. Yeah, nothing was full-size, but the products were pretty expensive. I do recommend that if you want to buy these products that you get them from not Murale’s website, because their website is not only oddly laid-out, but the products don’t always have their size on them and are definitely marked up from what you’ll pay elsewhere. Just something to think about.

I’m so impressed with my Topbox this month. I can’t wait for the next one.
