Empties: Didn't Make the Move

Yesterday morning, my dad came and helped me load up the truck, and then I left Halifax for the last time. Obviously, not everything could make the move, and my collection of cosmetics was getting a little out of hand. Here are all of the things that got left behind. Some were empty, some were not. I have a hard time tossing things out (said the hoarder) because I keep thinking I will find a use for them. Moving made it so I couldn’t do that anymore, and I had to come to terms with just getting rid of excess stuff.

Nicole by OPI nail polish in Make a Change
Why throw it out? I was going through my nail polish and testing to see which ones were particularly gloopy, and this one had to go.
How much use did it get? Tons! I got my money’s worth of it.
Repurchase? Maybe. I’m not really attached to particular nail polishes, but I like this brand.

Batiste Dry Shampoo
Why throw it out? It was empty!
How much use did it get? Loads. I use this dry shampoo at least once a week at a minimum.
Repurchase? Definitely.

Dove Go Fresh Cool Essentials
Why throw it out? Broken.
How much use did it get? Not much. I think it came broken. It was sent to me, so I didn’t pick it out. It also had a funny smell, and I don’t want to have a funny smell.
Repurchase? No.

Annabelle Eye Make-Up Remover Pads
Why throw it out? This product is not good. The pads are saturated with oil, leaving your face completely slick. I would have to wash my face for a long time to get the oil off too. On the bright side, it takes off everything.
How much use did it get? Some. It came with 75 pads, I think I used about 40 of them.
Repurchase? No.

Covergirl Clean Makeup Foundation
Why throw it out? Not my shade!
How much use did it get? Some. I mostly used this as a mix for my winter foundation when it got too light, but I have better foundations that match more now. It wasn’t worth moving. It’s also very runny and hard to work with.
Repurchase? No.

Garnier Ultra-Lift Transformer
Why throw it out? It makes your face and hands pumpkin orange. See review here.
How much use did it get? I used it twice.
Repurchase? Nope.

L’Oreal True Match Foundation
Why throw it out? Not my shade!
How much use did it get? Like the other foundation, I used this as a mix, and I liked it. It just has run out of usefulness for me.
Repurchase? In a different color.

Revlon Powder Blush in Naturally Nude
Why throw it out? Extra old.
How much use did it get? Tons. I used this consistently for more than a year. It was old and needed to go though, and I had already hit pan.
Repurchase? Maybe in a different color. I liked this for every day, but I think I would like it better in a different shade. The formula is great though.

Annabelle Eyeshadow Duo in Verdant
Why throw it out? I never wore this.
How much use did it get? A little. It was my least-used eyeshadow though.
Repurchase? No. It’s chalky and not very pigmented.

Covergirl Eyeshadow in Espresso
Why throw it out? Broken. I was going to take it along, but it hit the floor and shattered.
How much use did it get? Tons. Before it broke, I had hit pan on it. It was my all-purpose shadow. Good for creases, contouring (in a pinch), eyebrows, whatever. It was great.
Repurchase? Yes.

Essence Ready for Boarding Lip and Cheek Crème
Why throw it out? It’s awful.
How much use did it get? Hardly any. I played around with it for a bit, but it was just useless. It has no staying power at all, and just slides off. It’s also heavy and greasy and broke me out really bad.
Repurchase? Nope.

BA Star Holographic Glitter
Why throw it out? The packaging never really closed right, and this makes transporting it hard. It’s a good product, but the packaging is inconvenient.
How much use did it get? Some. I like to get glittery on special occasions.
Repurchase? Maybe. I still have some other BA Star glitter from another press sample they sent me.

Good Stuff Organics Moisture Whipped Hand Crème
Why throw it out? Didn’t moisturize, smelled strange, and was oddly thick and chunky for a lotion.
How much use did it get? Not much.
Repurchase? No.

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream (x7)
Why throw it out? All used up! I had accumulated these in gifts and giveaways and finally used them up. These are my favorite lotions.
How much use did it get? Lots!
Repurchase? Yes.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream
Why throw it out? It smells so bad that I couldn’t use it for anything. It’s supposedly so good for so many purposes, but I could not get past that god-awful smell. I talked about this inthis post.
How much use did it get? None.
Repurchase? No.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion (x4)
Why throw it out? All empty! A good lotion, although not one of my favorites. It takes a long time to sink into your skin.
How much use did it get? Lots.
Repurchase? Probably not.

Flawless Touch Eye Primer
Why throw it out? This didn’t work. My eyeshadows stayed on less well after I primed with this.
How much use did it get? Not much.
Repurchase? No.

Mereadesso Lip Treat Lip Primer
Why throw it out? Kind of a useless product, in my opinion. I didn’t notice a difference in the staying power of my lipstick, and the extra step seemed unneeded. It also didn’t moisturize.
How much use did it get? Not much.
Repurchase? No.

Softlips Lip Balm in Vanilla
Why throw it out? It tastes like plastic and doesn’t work.
How much use did it get? Not much. Only when I was in a pinch.
Repurchase? No.

NYC Flatliner Eye Pencil in Brown
Why throw it out? The pencil was oddly shaped (wide and flat) in such a way that it was useless. It was also too hard to use without it being kind of painful.
How much use did it get? Very little.
Repurchase? No.

LA Colours Lipliner Pencil in Red
Why throw it out? No staying power and patchy application.
How much use did it get? Very little.
Repurchase? No.

LA Colors Eyeliner Pencil in Brown-Black
Why throw it out? Not a good product. Zero staying power, sliding off your eyelid into a panda-esque mess.
How much use did it get? Very little.
Repurchase? No.

I still have way too much stuff, but I think that this made a little bit of a dent.
