imPress Press-On Manicure

Today I have a review for you courtesy of Influenster. I’ve talked about Influenster before in this post, and you should definitely check them out if you haven’t already.

I received in the mail a little package with a couple of sets of imPress Press-On Nails. imPress Manicures are pre-glued, so you just stick them on and you’re good to go. My nails are perpetually short and I typically do not do much with them. When I got these, I was eager to try them out to see if they really did work.

These are very easy to apply. In the pack, you get an alcohol wipe labelled the prep pad, the dinkiest nail file ever, and then 12 different sizes of stick-on nails. You clean off your nails with the prep pad, and then you peel off the plastic backing on the nails and press them on. It doesn’t get much simpler than that. It’s even simpler than using nail wraps. These are really easy to get right, even when you use your nondominant hand.

These nails are fairly short. If your nails were too long, then they wouldn’t cover it up. The nails end right at the tip of my finger, which I think is fine, but I know some people want their nails to be longer than that.

I had some difficulties finding fake nails that would fit on my normal nails. It took a while to figure out which nails I needed to use, but eventually I got it. My nails are also naturally kind of flat, but these have a really pronounced curvature. Because of this, I can feel the adhesive pulling up on my nail. It isn’t uncomforable, but it’s not pleasant. The plastic on these is very thick making it obvious that these are not real. They also have a weird plastic nub at the end that resisted being filed away buy still catches on things like a hangnail.

Observe the plastic nubbin on the index finger.
These are lasting really well. I’ve had them on for three days and they’re not budging. I’ve been kind of hard on my hands the past few days and they have held up to all of that. They’re also pretty and extra glossy. The pattern is definitely more garish than my usual, but it’s instant perfect nail art without any drying time.

I’m not a regular fake nail wearer, but the next time I feel the urge, this is the brand that I’ll be getting. They last really well, and are generally pretty nice. They’re much better than I was expecting, and certainly worth trying whether you’re a regular wearing of the stick on nails or if you’re looking for something for a special occasion.
