DIY Succulent Garden
Oh succulents. Pinterest’s favorite plant. I love succulents and really wanted some. I was out and about and noticed that my local florist of choice was selling glass bowls of succulents for
fifty dollars each. I really wanted done, but $50 was a little too much for me. I was certain I could do my own for less.
I bought two succulents. The green one was called “Hen and Chicks” and the reddish one was named “Purple Daphne”. They both came from local producers at the farmer’s market. One was $3, the other was $3.50.
I picked up a heart shaped bowl from Dollar Tree, along with a package of floral moss. Those were only a dollar each.
I packed the moss around the edges and around the plants that I put in. The lady at the stand selling these said I shouldn’t be shy about getting them close, so I wasn’t. I really like how it turned out and it brightens up my desk a ton. Succulents are also so easy to take care of. They’re fine if you forget to water them for a few days (or weeks).
Total cost: $9.50 and about fifteen minutes of assembling.
