Everything You Need for St. Patty's Day
It’s St. Patrick’s Day next Tuesday. This day, originally a feast celebrating the saint who drove all of the snakes out of Ireland, has devolved into something of a big party holiday here in North America. I, like I assume many of you, will be spending the day crawling my favorite pubs, bars, and clubs with some friends. Even if that isn’t your speed, you may be feeling a little bit festive towards the day.
Here are a few things I found around the internet (let’s face it, they’re mostly Pinterest) that I think would make for a picture-perfect, DIY party. Clicking on any of the photos will take you to the source website, in case you want exact directions.
First let’s get you all prettied up. Every time I’ve gon
e to a bar out here in Montana, someone has spilled something on me, so I usually go for something that I don’t mind getting messy, or that I know will wash out really well. If you’re able to wear something a little nicer, how about this nice dress? If you’re buying something green for the holiday, it may as well be something you’ll add to your wardrobe.
This website has sixteen (16!) different St. Patrick’s Day nail tutorials for whatever your style. It’s a good excuse to try something new.
After you’re all fancy, how about making that house of yours fancy too? Here are two tutorials that are both simple-simple and look classy.
This post would not be complete without taking into account the drinkies. This is after all the holiday of green beer.
This website has a whopping 20 different drinks and shooters that are all delightfully festive. There is sure to be something to fit your taste.
Finally, this is a practical tool. Behold the Zaptop bottle opener! I actually have one of these and I can’t figure out how it works, only that it does. If you have a lot of people over, or are drinking
a lot
, this thing comes in handy. You push it straight down onto the top of a bottle (the kind you can’t just twist off) and the lid pops free. It takes no effort and is a fun novelty. I love it and tend to bring it along to a lot of parties.
Well, there you have it. Some things to get you in the Irish mindset.
What tips do you have for your next party?
This post contains a product that I received for review purposes, but my opinions are always honest and my own. Seriously, if you're going to get a novelty bottle opener, make it this one.
