Spring Fashion Inspiration | Cannes Film Festival
It’s been a while since I did a fashion recap, and I kind of miss them. So here’s my favorites from the runways at the Cannes Film Festival this year, to get us all int eh mood for summer. The number of photos from this week is nearly infinite, so these are just the six lovely ladies that caught my eye the most out of the neverending stream of pictures.
Jordan Dunn
One of my favorite things about summer is the sheer fabrics that suddenly become appropriate again. Now, we can’t all be Victoria Secret models, but this dress looked amazing and signalled the beginning of the season for sheer floaty fabrics.
Chanel Iman
Similarly, the return of bright colors. I don’t wear a lot of fun colors in the winter. I’m a black/gray/navy kind of girl. But as spring rolls in, it’s time to break out the hot pink and wear it without shame.
Emily Blunt
Again, the return of summer colors. White. Sure, Emily’s white is peppered with a geometric pattern, but she still rocks it. Evidence that even us pale girls can wear white without looking too pasty.
Petra Nemcova
Florals! For spring! (how original) I love a good floral, and this floaty princess dress is just lovely. Obviously that’s more cleavage than is appropriate for the office…but it’s great inspiration for the spring to come.
Charlotte Le Bon
This actress hasn’t pinged my radar just yet, but she’s undoubtedly very pretty. I couldn’t pick between these two looks. I love her black jumpsuit, because I love a good jumpsuit. Her second outfit is this great chiffon Grecian thing. I’m all about that life. I think that she’s one to pay attention to.
Mindy Kaling
And finally, the return of color blocking. I know, every season it seems like this is the
last time that this is going to be in fashion, but it just doesn’t seem to be going away. I like it, so I’m not complaining!
So those were my take-aways from this year’s Cannes Film Festival. I can’t tell you how excited I am for it to be summer. The weather just started to be nice here, so it’s a sign that summer is on the way.
