Glossybox | June 2015

Coming home to a package from Glossybox is always an excellent way to end the day. This month's Glossybox is another fantastic one with five great products for summer!

The Aloe Source Luminosity Masque

This soothing gel masque combines pineapple and papaya enzymes to gently exfoliate skin, with aloe vera and willow herb extract to simultaneously sooth it, leaving your complexion radiant and more youthful-looking.

This is a really great face masque. You leave it on for just a few minutes, and it doesn’t harden up, so it makes it easy to work into your day.

Orly Nail Lacquer in Oh Cabana Boy

Both portable and convenient, these mini polishes are perfect for a summer manicure. Free of DBP, formaldehyde, and toluene and featuring an award-winning gripper cap, Orly is designed to offer both professional formulas and fashion-forward colors born from industry trends.

Unlike last month’s lackluster nail polish, this is wonderful. The color is a fantastic bright pink and the wear time is fantastic. I am excited to be wearing this one all throughout the summer months. The color you get in your box may vary.

Too Faced Cosmetics Better Than Sex Mascara

What’s in a name? Everything, according to Too Faced. After setting out to create a truly buildable mascara, the brad introduced this carbon black, collagen fueled formula, which enhances lashes more and more with every coat. The hourglass shaped brush volumizes and lifts both top and bottom lashes.

This one has been a favorite of mine for a month or two now. It doesn’t stay on as well as I would like, but it does manage to look fantastic. It’s by far the best mascara in terms of pretty, I just wish it came in a waterproof. If it did that, it would be my HG mascara for sure.

Etre Belle Cosmetics Aloe Vera Ultra Moisturizing Gel

For summer-friendly hydration, this lightweight, oil-free hydrator, packed with liposomes, promises a glowing supple complexion. Also acting as a skin-plumping primer, the gel formula replenishes the skin’s moisture content and improves elasticity.

I never turn down a moisturizer. In the summer, try as I might, I always get at least one bad sunburn. I am sure that as the weeks go by, this will be helpful. I also really do not like the smell of aloe vera. It has a very particular scent that I just can’t stand. This doesn’t have that scent, instead smelling like perfume. The scent doesn’t irritate my skin, but something to consider.

Doucce Blush Brush

This fluffy kabuki brush can be used with brush and bronzer powder formulas to create a seamless sun-kissed look thanks to a dome-shaped brush head and natural hair fibers.

This brush is…different. It’s a very compact kabuki, so it definitely will be good for blush and bronzer. The problem that I have is that the handle is kind of an odd length. Perhaps just something that needs getting used to. It also is natural fibers, so it isn’t as soft as some of my synthetic brushes. I can't see it replacing any of my usual brushes, but it's always good to have more for when my favorites are dirty.

So that’s it for this month! Glossybox retails for $21/month, which includes shipping to the US. Shipping is also really affordable to Canada too, so don’t count it out if you’re a little farther north. This month’s box was worth $78.98, so the value is definitely there. I have yet to be disappointed by Glossybox. If you’re interested in getting your own, you can check them out here!
