Boxycharm Unboxing | September 2015

Since cancelling Ipsy and Birchbox, I’m on the hunt for the next great thing. I landed on Boxycharm, which is in the same pricepoint as my total absolute favorite box, Glossybox. I got my first box a few days ago and I’m so excited to share it with you because it’s so great.

Watch my unboxing here:

And read on....

For $21 a month, you get a box full of awesome stuff, and most of it is full-sized, which makes it even better.

Previse Skincare HydroMilk Hydrating Lotion
Nourish & moisturize your skin with Previse Skincare’s Hydromilk which contains natural ingredients to help improve skin’s hydration & fight free radicals. Apply daily onto the palm of your hands then gently massage in a circular motion onto face & down your neck.
$48

This bottle is huge. I probably would not buy this myself, but now that I have it, I’m not going to have to buy moisturizer for forever. It’s a bit lighter than I usually prefer, but it doesn’t leave a residue and it absorbs quickly. It has kind of a light citrus scent, but definitely nothing too overpowering. Overall good in my book.

Vasanti Professional Foundation Brush
Specially shaped & designed to create a flawless, even, & natural looking foundation application. Lightly dip brush into liquid foundation. Start at the center of your face the move up towards the hairline and chin. Use the tip for blending hard-to-reach areas.
$32

This brush is amazing! It doesn’t shed at all, and it feels thick and luxiourious. It is synthetic, so it’s stiffer than most of my brushes (which are natural fiber). Still, it blends foundation amazingly well. It would also be excellent for cream blush or bronzer, as we’re getting into the season where I start to reach for those.

tarte skinny smolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner
The “skinny” version of tarte’s smolderEYES Amazonian clay waterproof line. Create smoldering, sultry eyes or doe eyed & awakened eyes with these Amazonian clay infused liners. Gently pull outward on outer eye corner & glide tip along upper & lower lash line for a crisp lined look or use smudger end of pencil to soften line. For a sultry, smoky eye, use liner as shadow.
$19

When I saw this, I got honestly really excited. I have a hard time finding long-lasting eyeliners. Everything slips right off. Tarte though. Tarte knows what they’re doing. When it says waterproof, they mean it. I also love this color. I don’t know if I would have reached for it on my own, but now that I have it, it’s amazing. I think it will be great for doing a fall smoky eye for some nights out.

Natural light, no flash.
Chella Eyebrow Defining Gel
Use this clear brow gel to lift, hold, & groom eyebrow hairs. Apply gel on brows in upward strokes.
$18

This was kind of a disappointment. I don’t feel it’s worth $18. Maybe I got a dud, I don’t know. It’s sticky, but doesn’t hold my (unruly) brows into place. It feels icky on, and I worry that it’s breaking me out or making my hairs look strange as the day goes on. I have some great brow products as it is, and this is not going to be making the cut.

SCRATCH Nail Wraps
Get a full mani with these nail wraps in less than 10 minutes. Find the wrap that best fits your cuticle & place the round edge of wrap against it. Stretch and smooth down wrap onto nail from vase to tip then file excess downwards. Apply top coat.
$12

This was sort of an advertisement. They want you to sign up for their beauty box, where they send you nail wraps and tools. I don’t like nail wraps exceptionally well, but I do like them for a special occasion. I scrolled through the scratch website and wasn’t too impressed, but these wraps are a gorgeous pattern and they happened to perfectly match a dress that I wore to a wedding on Friday. Unfortunately, these were chip city even with a top coat. Total disappointment.

24 hours of wear later... :(
Kardashian Beauty Black Seed Dry Oil
A nutrient rich treatment & styling aid that rejuvenates & nourishes hair so it appears strong, thick, smooth & gloriously shiny. Apply a small amount into palms & distribute evenly on damp hair prior to blow dry styling or use to smooth frizz at roots & ends or add shine to dry hair.
$2.75

I’ve been actively avoiding the Kardashian hair and makeup line. The reviews have been so mixed that I didn’t even want to try. I can’t speak for the rest of the line, but this is really nice. I’ve only used it on dry hair so far, but it adds that glorious shine without making your hair look greasy or weighed down. I highly recommend for sprucing up second (third…or fourth) day hair.

So that’s this month’s Boxycharm! Overall, I’m so impressed and can’t wait to see what they come out with as we start to get into October! If you want to try one out, you can use my link here and get some $$ off.
