Valentia True Glow Eye Cream and Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask | Review

Winter is almost done, but my skin is still having a hard time getting ready for spring. My scaly lizard skin is dry in the best of days (thanks Montana :( ), mostly from a combination of forced air heat, awful gusty winds, and my natural lack of oiliness. I didn’t have a dedicated skincare routine until about six months ago, and my skin has never been better! My breakouts have cleared up, and I finally feel like I’m happy with my skin. (Check out my Top 5 Skincare Favorites!)

I’ve been using a serum from a brand called Valentia for two years now as part of my skincare routine, and I had the opportunity to try out a few more things from them that I have already fallen in love with. Valentia is also a great company. They’re cruelty free, and made in the USA, both things that can get behind. So what’s so great about their products?

First up is the Valentia Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask ($25). This mask is a glorious golden yellow and smells fantastically floral. It’s very pleasant. You can smell this all day. This is also unlike many other masks I’ve used. It goes on like a gel, and can stay on pretty much indefinitely. I often sleep with it on. Because it’s a gel-consistency, it doesn’t get your sheets or pillow all icky. If you don’t want to leave it on that long, you get the ultra-hydrating effect within about 20 minutes. The packaging does say that a tingling sensation is normal, but I didn’t notice that at all.

After rinsing it off, whether in 15 minutes or the next day, my skin is so soft. Tiny fluffy kitten soft. And the best part? My skin stays that soft for almost a full week. A little will go a long way in making a difference to my skin. It’s also (in my opinion) an amazing bargain. You need so little, but you get so much for $25. Truly amazing.

My other new favorite is the Valentia True Glow Eye Cream ($25). I am notoriously unfaithful to my eye creams, until I met this one. So many companies send out eye creams that there just isn’t enough time to love each one as it should be, but this one has really stolen my heart. It’s this strange peach color, but smells like citrus. It’s right in the middle of being a gel and a cream, but it blends in immediately without feeling heavy. I also like to use this to spot treat extra dry patches, like near recent breakouts and it clears those up immediately. This product (unlike the mask) does give that tingling feeling, but it’s not too much to handle. It definitely tightens the skin noticeably as well, so that’s wonderful for those mornings when I’m looking in the mirror, appalled by my own under eye bags. The one thing that I do not like about this is the packaging. The pump gives you way too much product, so I find myself avoiding using it. I might depot this into a screw-top container to make it easier to use.  However, once again, $25 is very reasonable for eye creams that typically cost as much as the rent.

If you’re in the market for some skincare, definitely check this brand out. It’s wonderful, reasonably priced, and will make your skin feel like magic. I can’t think of anything better to finish out the last of the cold winter days.
