Fall Favorites
It’s already September! I’m not quite ready for the sudden change in weather, but I’m excited for pumpkin spice and cardigans and crunchy leaves. As the seasons changed, I discovered and rediscovered a few favorite things.
I’ve been focusing a lot on having a flawless base. My skin gets dry and patchy really easily when the weather turns cold, so I’ve been using the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Skin Booster under my makeup. It came in my October Sephora Play! and I haven’t stopped using it. In terms of makeup, I’ve been using the Ordinary Serum Foundation in 1.1N. It’s a great shade match and feels amazing. It’s quick to put on with a damp beauty blender and feels like real skin. For places that I need a little extra coverage, I love the Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer. I don’t go full Youtube with it and slap it all over my face, but a little used sparingly works delightfully. I’ve bee finishing off the look with the NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray. It provides a little dewiness, but a lot of staying power. I really need some extra setting because of the constant in and out from the cold to the heated indoors and taking scarves on and off.
For color cosmetics, I’ve been keeping it pretty light. I have been loving the CoverFX Custom Cover Drops in Moonlight. I don’t particularly care for the heavy matte look during winter, and this adds just a little extra glow to the skin. For nails, my favorite has been Knee-High Life from Essie. It’s a deep berry, perfect for the holiday season.
I’ll finish with the two lifestyle favorites I have. Around this time last year, we finished our slowly-building gallery wall with some prints from Noteworthy in Missoula, Montana. I was there for a conference, and saw this little print and had to bring it home. I still love it and it just screams fall to me with it’s warm oranges and browns. I’ll be sharing our gallery wall and some info about the different pieces. I’m really proud of our tiny, but beautiful, art collection and excited that it feels finally complete! I would like our house to be super cozy and very us, so I’ve been lighting up candles. My favorite is still the Leaves Candle from White Barn, formerly the Bath and Body Works candles.
I’ll be talking about some cold weather fashion must-haves in a post coming out soon, so until then, stay warm and cozy!
