Christmas Tree for Under $60! | Blogmas #15
The focal point of the holiday season -- the Christmas tree -- can be expensive. This is our first Christmas as a family, so we are starting from scratch. Our entire Christmas tree setup -- ornaments, tree, tree-skirt, topper...the works! -- was less than $60.
First things first -- the tree. Our tree is a four-foot lit tree for $25. It's available at Walmart and is easily assembled and packed up after the holidays. I was appalled by how expensive tree skirts are! The bottom of our cheapy tree isn't very pretty, so a tree skirt was nonnegotiable. We got some raw burlap from the fabric section. It was $8 for three yards. It smelled very strongly, so I let it air outside overnight, and then wrapped it around the base of the tree. It looked rustic, and like the many other "rustic" tree skirts for sale.
Ornaments were a combination of a $9 ornament bucket and some homemade dough ornaments. To top it off, the tree-topper was $12.99.
All done, and only $54!
