Affordable Wedding Guest Outfits

I will admit...I am a notorious outfit repeater. Can anyone actually afford to buy a new outfit for every occasion? I like to think the stigma has gone away, with the rise of the capsule wardrobe, but then I realize I have one dress that I wear to every wedding we're invited to. Yikes. Here are my picks for best affordable wedding guest outfits, so you'll avoid being that one girl who wears the same dress every time this one friend group sees you. Better yet? All the dresses I have here are less than $100.

Casual

Whether your friends are getting married in a backyard or on a beach, the casual wedding can be a ton a fun, and easier on everyone's budget. I recommend choosing a nice sundress or something with a fun print -- you probably have something appropriate in your closet already!

Cocktail

Cocktail dresses are made instantly more upscale by choosing a more solid, muted color or by picking a subdued print. It's also a great place to play with romantic details and textured patterns.

Formal

For a formal wedding, unless you're going to a lot of formal events, I wouldn't even buy a dress. I would use a service like Rent the Runway and borrow a dress for the weekend. I linked some of my favorite formal dresses below. If you're looking for that million-dollar look, and want to wear a designer dress, I recommend renting, especially for something you'll only wear once or twice. The top two are to buy, the second two are to rent.

Enjoy wedding season and don't break the bank!
