FabFitFun Summer 2018 Review and Unboxing
One of the subscription boxes that I love more than any other is my FabFitFun. It comes only once a quarter, (check out last fall and winter!) so I feel like they hit it out of the park every time. This month I received the spring edition, and I am excited to say that it was awesome as always. Here's what was inside.
The Fab
This box was, just like last season's, super heavy on skincare. I liked most of the products, but I did think it was a little bit much. First up is the Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rjuvenator ($29). This is definitely not a new product for me. I've used it off and on for somewhere in teh neighborhood of four years. After all this time, I still like it. It's a very harsh physical exfoliator, so I don't recommend it for everyone. I used to have very dry skin, but it's transitioned more to normal over the years. I can only use this about once a week without it being too harsh, but it is great at its job.
Next was the ELEMIS Papaya Enzyme Peel ($45). I have been using this about once a week as well. It leaves my skin soft and a=I like the way it looks. I don't think that it exfoliates much, but it does moisturize really well. Elemis is also a brand with a lot of name-recognition and appeal in the luxury market, so I'm excited to finally try it out. Also exfoliating me more (I get the hint, FFF), is the Jaboneria Marianella Body Caviar ($48). This is a very luxurious product. It's a fancy body scrub. I love it. It's not a need-to-have for me, but it is a nice-to-have when I want to feel particularly special.
The item I was most excited about was the Foreo Luna Fofo ($89). I have been a fan of the Foreo facial devices for multiple years. I take my Luna Mini with me every trip, and it's what has made the biggest difference in my skin. There are lots of reasons I love Foreo. They're rechargeable. They are made of atiacterial silicone. They're pretty. I was so excited to try this one out. The Fofo attaches via bluetooth to the Foreo app to tell you about your skin using a sensor on the back. The app is...shit. It's clunky, doesn't work well, crashes a lot, and doesn't give you much new information. I didn't learn anything new about my skin. I wanted to like this, but it seems like a bad gimmick to me. The good news? This is still a Foreo Luna! I still like it for all the reasons above, but I think the added app-features are not worth it. You can get away with a regular Foreo Luna.
Last Fab item is the Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow Highlight and Contour Pallete ($45). I like Tarte. I think that they make a wuality product. I don't really contour every day becuase I find that it looks really good on camera, but not great in real life. The highlights in this palette are really beautiful and I'll definitely use the. I would recommend this if you are someone who wants to have a variety of options fofr contour or highlight!
The Fit
The only item that was remotely fitness related this month was the Coola Sport SPF50 Classic Sunscreen ($32). Coola sunscreens are really popular right now, but some ingrediant in them does not agree with my skin. Wearing sunscreen every day is really important, but I don't do use this one. I'll be passing it on to a friend.
The Fun
For a couple of fun things, I received a Yumi Kim Train Case ($58). I had been looking for a better travel bag for my makeup, and this is exactly what I wanted! I have a post going up next week about my travel makeup bag that will feature this. I've taken it on two trips already and it's working really well for me. Is $58 worth it for a makeup bag? i would say no, but I'm happy to have it.
The last item in my box was a Marble Ring Dish from Pier 1 ($14.99). I don't really need another ring dish. We have lots of little dishes to keep things in. I also don't wear rings (hint, hint Chuck). It is part of my flatlay aesthetic, so I think I'll keep it around to use for blog stuff.
That's my whole box! The total value was over $350, and was one of the best boxes that I've gotten so far. If you're interested, you can pick one up here. The box retails for $49.99 a quarter, and cheaper if you purchase an annual subscription. That link gives me no kickback, but will get you $10 off your first box!
Let me know if you're interested in picking one up!
