Reviewing Firmoo Low Cost Glasses

See this content in the original post

I’ve been a glasses-wearer for 21 years. I’ve never thought about it like that, and that is a very, very big number. Besides the occasional stint of contacts-wearing, glasses are part of my life. I recall when I first got glasses, I was so excited to get them. Imagine how much less exciting it is now that I’m an adult who buys my glasses, and the idea of forking out hundreds of dollars for a new pair every year or two. Thankfully it’s slightly less now that my eyes have kind of settled, but styles are still changing faster than my prescription. How can you commit to one pair for years? Two years ago, I thought I’d have Zooey Deschanel bangs until I died.

I like my glasses to be an extension of my face. I like them to match the kinds of outfits I like to wear. I like them to fit in with what I like to look like and how I see myself. But when we’re talking about hundreds of dollars, it’s not economically smart for me to order a new pair for every day of the week.

Welcome, Firmoo. Firmoo calls itself the Global Online Optical Store and offers worldwide shipping of extremely inexpensive frames and lenses. His is the answer to being able to have a pair of glasses for every day. I had originally looked into getting some backup frames for them to take when we travel so that if they get broken, I wouldn’t sweat too much about it. Given that their prices cap out around $40, it’s incredibly affordable for nearly everyone. They also have frequent sales and opportunities to reduce that price even lower.

The Good

The Firmoo frames shop has hundreds and hundreds of frames, and they’re in pretty much every shape and size you could ask for. I liked that I could sort by shape and size. I know what I like, and was happy that I could sort by those. I also appreciated being able to sort by glasses width to find a pair that would fit my face. The choices seemed nearly endless, and each style comes in several colors.

The options were also nearly endless after you picked the frames. There are a ton of coating options, accessories, and features that you can add on for a fee. I went for the blue-light-blocking, mostly because I was curious, and extra glare resistance. This is still not a bank-breaker, adding only $15 to the total price.

Another benefit is how fast shipping was. Even with the Coronavirus Lockdowns in place and mail delivery going significantly slower, my glasses took a total of seven days to arrive from China to Minnesota. Once they were finished and shipped, it only took three days for them to arrive. They ship in a padded envelope and had no quality problems on arrival.

The Bad

They have a virtual try-on service, which while somewhat helpful, does not adequately show the size of the frames on the face. All of the frames appear the same size, so it isn’t a great way to reference the frame size. People are also able to upload their photos of the glasses on, so I found those to be much more reliable. You know, finding someone with a similar face shape to mine and seeing how they looked in it, just like how I shop for dresses.

The Verdict

I love them. They come in trendy and fun shapes but also don’t break the bank. This is exactly what I wanted. I also really think that Blue-Light Blocking is effective! I thought it was a gimmick, but my nearly-daily headaches have now drastically reduced in frequency. It could be a coincidence, but I’ll take it. The purchase, shipping, and delivery were all seamless and easy. I’m also thrilled by the quality. I’m not sure what else you’d expect when they’re less than $30 full price. Too good to be true? No, not at all. If you’re interested, you can use this link, and enter code O1K4D4 at the checkout to get your first order for 50% off. I want to hear from you. What do you think about affordable glasses brands? Have you tried any? What do you think?

Hey! I used a coupon code to purchase these glasses at a reduced rate. My opinion reflects my experiences with this company, and I would gladly pay full price in the future.
