March Allure Beauty Box Review

I cannot believe that next week is APRIL! I am so excited for pastels and florals and feeling less like my bones are frozen. Last month, Allure really knocked the monthly box out of the box, so I was really hoping that this month would also work out. It came in another plastic envelope-style bag, which is the perfect size for storing makeup brushes. I’ve had a few days to test the different items out, and I’m excited to talk about them today!

Inside my Box

The first item in the box was the Au Naturale The Anywhere Creme Multistick in Grapefruit ($35). This was the only color cosmetics item in the box. I really wanted to love this. I have lots of multisticks, but this one just doesn’t give me what I need. The color is so very sheer that I wouldn’t use it for lipstick or for a blush. It works if I really layer it on, but that’s not really what I’m here for. I might try to layer it under foundation and see if I can load up my cheeks and then put foundation on it to give a subtle look. More to come…maybe.

This box was massively skincare heavy. Last month, there was an oil to foam cleanser from Mamonde. This month Mamonde brought us the Rose Water Toner ($2.29 value). I don’t really use toner. It’s always struck me as a “nice to have” rather than a must-have for skincare. I used to go nuts with the toner when I was in high school, but less and less as I got older. It’s fine, but I don’t think there’s any need to go out and get this. It is made of 98.9% Damask Rose Water, which I don’t know really means anything since you just take it off right away.

Keeping on the skincare train is the Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb ($7.60 value). I have tried a few different products from Belif and have loved them all. This has a light blue color and gentle moisturizing qualities. I’m excited to use this. Also in the box is the Acure Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil ($3.90). I have been using the Sunday Riley Luna oil, but (as mentioned in this post) I don’t shop with them anymore. I have since been looking for a really good alternative, and I think this might be it! It hits a drugstore price point ($13 per ounce) and is legitimately good. It doesn’t have that good anti-aging in it but is very moisturizing which is just what I need for spring. This mini is also in a rollerball, which I kind of love. It also has a wonderful herbal scent.

There was a sheet mask in this box, the Biobelle Botanic Fibre Facial Mask ($3.99 value). I love a good face mask. Do they do anything? Maybe. This one is called #afterparty for brightening. I used this after a long night out (nothing too crazy) and it did really refresh up my skin. I don’t love it more than any other masks, but I do use one about once a week.

The last two items are both exfoliators. To be honest, I’m not really excited that I got two. The first is from Derma E, nicely called the Microdermabrasion Scrub ($6.5 value). This is way too rough. It has a lot of citrus in it which is just too caustic for me. I wouldn’t recommend this. The other item is one that is already living in my bathroom, also called the Microdermabrasion Scrub from Dr. Brandt ($7.25 value). I use this a few times a week and so does Charles. It’s the right amount of scrubbing, and I love it.

The overall total value of this box is a little less than $59.28. This is the lowest value box that I’ve gotten from Allure so far. Low value aside, I’m not the most impressed. I didn’t discover a lot of new and exciting products, and most of the value came from the cream multistick that I didn’t like. Next month is a collab with a beauty guru, so it seems more like something I would like. All things in, this is a good value for $15. I am also continually impressed and will get a lot of use out of this box. If you want your own Allure Beauty Box ($10 to start, $15 each month after!) you can sign up here!
