September Allure Beauty Box

Here we are, another month in and my Allure box has arrived! This month marks a large turning point because this is the last month before the Allure box suddenly has a jump in price. So, keeping that in mind, this box is only $15, but the next one is going to be $23 a month. I’ll be sure to keep you updated on whether I think that price increase is going to be worth it, but for now, let’s jump into this month’s box.

This month’s box has seven different items, ranging from drugstore to high end. There are two makeup-makeup products, one brush, some skincare, and even a hair product this month!

First is the item I was most ecited for, which is the Wander Beauty Unleashed Mascara (full size, $24). The Mile High Club Mascara, also from Wander, is my favorite mascara of all time. Keeping that in mind, I couldn’t wait to give this a try. I’ll be honest — it’s not quite as good as the Mile High Club mascara, but it’s great to use both together to leayer for length and volume combined. I’ll keep experimenting with it, and so far it doesn’t flake, so it’s already miles ahead of a lot of other mascaras in my book.

La Roche-Poay sent along the Anthelios 50 Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid (sample size, valued at $3.35). The last few boxes have had LRP products in them, and they’re fine. It’s one of those brands I used to think was fancy when I was in college, but now I think it’s pretty average. This is a sunscreen, and just an okay sunscreen. It lays nicely under makeup, but otherwise is just plain.

Next up is another product I was so jazzed to give a try! The Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm (sample size, valued at $12.11) has been on my wishlist for a while, so I was so pleased to see this show up this month. I love cleansing balms. This has a strangely nostalgic (?) scent? It smells just like a Caudalie body scrub I bought back in college to feel extra fancy when I was broke. I love it. This is also wonderful at pulling off all the makeup without breaking me out or leaving a greasy residue. I have another cleansing balm that I really like, but this one is also really good.

Allulre sent the ELF Highlighting Brush ($4). I like the ELF brushes. They’re reasonably priced and work well. I can always use more brushes, so this one got added to the rotation quickly. The other makeup item is the Cleo Noir Twist Up Eyeliner in Purple ($18, full size). I really wanted to love this one. I really, truly did. But it just sucks. This eyeliner is hard and unpigmented. It’s a lvely purple color that doesn’t show up at all. That’s about it. Wouldn’t purchase.

Allure has also been shipping out a sheet mask every month and this month is no different. This time it’s the Glam Ip Revitalizing Japanese Sake Sheet Mask ($0.98). This one went the same way as the all the other sheet masks. They’re either fine, or they’re awful. This one is fine. It’s thin and has a light spa-like scent. My skin felt significantly smoother and I liked it!

Last item was the sponsored item in the box, which was a travel size of the Water L<ss Dry Conditioner ($3.99 for the travel size). I really like this one, but it’s essentially a fancy hairspray. Call ir what you want, it’s a lightweight hairspray. Nothing more. It makes my hair smoother, and less frizzy. Nothing too crazy!

That’s another month in the bag. I’ll be sure to let you know how the October box goes at the $23 price, but I’ve seen the October spoiers and they look great. If you’re interested in subscribing you can click here to get your first box for $10 off!
