April Glymm, and Home again!

Today is a bit of a double post, so I suppose we'll get right into it today. First, I'll talk about my Glymm box. My camera has been a little fritzy lately, so all the photos are ones I got off the internet, mostly off the Glymm website.

This month's Glymm box was okay. It was infinitely better than last months for sure. This time around, there were four products (five-ish) and they are all definitely usable.

First was a sample (a little tiny one, like you get in the drug store counters) of Atelier Cologne in the scent Orange Sanguine. It smells really nice. It really does smell like a tangy blood orange. The scent also lasts a long time. The sample has enough for one or two uses. The full-size has 200mL and costs $165. I already have some perfumes, so I probably won't be adding this one any time soon, but it's quite pleasant. The packaging also came with a cute postcard that you can send. Very nice :)

Next was a bar of soap, from the brand Lucia. Mine was Linseed and Goat Milk. It's a 20g bar, so it's about a third of the size of a drug store bar of soap. It's advertised as a 'guest' soap, and comes in a pack of 8 assorted scents for $17.50. The packaging was very simple, clean, and pretty. The soap also had an interesting smell. Usually, when you buy cute little soaps like that, they have really girly, floral scent, and any of my guy friends who come over don't want to use those. This one wasn't like that. To be honest, I'm not really sure what linseed smells like, but this smelled nice. It also has a rich, creamy texture that just covers you. The website also lists a full size bar as well, if that's more your speed.

Guest Soap Variety Pack, Linseed and Goat Milk is in the top left.

Also in the box was a sample of Free Your Mane Shampoo and Conditioner. Little pouches with enough for one wash. I used them this morning, and I was a little disappointed. They are supposedly natural, as well as paraben and sulfate free. The shampoo was so thick I had a lot of difficulty getting it through my hair. It also gave off a strong petrochemical-like smell. Sort of like vaseline. My hair also has some residue left, even after several thorough rinsings. The conditioner faired a little better, but not much. My hair doesn't feel like I put any conditioner in it at all, and is more unmanageable today. The shampoo and conditioner come together for $36.

Finally, I got some Mai Couture Social Gloss in Femme Fatale. Mai Couture, if you recall, also made the bronzing papers in my first Glymm Box. It's a pretty bright Barbie pink in the package, but it sheers out nicely when it's on. It's also supposed to fill in lines in your lips, and make them healthier and fuller. I'm not too worried about their anti-aging properties, because I don't really have any of that going on just yet. It does go one on very smoothly, and is a really pretty color. In the downsides, it's very sticky. It also made my lips look a lot rougher, even though I had just scrubbed them. It retails for $28, and is a full-size product.

As a bonus, the box also had a $100 gift certificate for Nu Me hair extensions or tools, but not accessories or hair care products. I assume that this is because the hair extensions that they sent last month didn't go over well, so they're trying to mend some fences with the customers. I'm not sure if I'll be using it, but I'll peruse the website and see if there's anything I want :)

After a lot of consideration, I'm not really feeling that the Glymm box has been exactly what I'm looking for. I enjoy the idea, but there are lots of other monthly subscription services, so I think I'll try another one out. I'm thinking next month that I'll order a Glossybox and we'll see if that's any better.

Also, I'm back home with my parents, so my next few posts will probably be a lot more domestic than normal.

Have a great day :)
