Revlon Selects: Revlon Nail Art 3D Jewel Appliques Wild Flowers
Hey guys! I’m in the process of moving house, so I hope you
don’t mind my absence. As soon as I’m done with exams and moved I’ll be around
a lot more. Anyway, today’s nail of the day is brought to you by Revlon.
As a disclaimer, these products were sent to me through the
Revlon Selects program, similar to the last time they sent me a box. They were
sent to me, but they didn’t ask me to talk about them. I am going to talk about
them honestly, and they also sent two nail polishes that I’m really excited to
try too, so you'll be seeing more Revlon soon. Everything in the package is from the Limited Edition Runway
Collection for spring. I’m a real sucker
for new nail polishes, so this was fantastic.
What I’m wearing
today are some of those nail decals that you just stick on. The information
sent says:
Nail Art goes Wild with 3D Effects
Instant salon-like
nail art designs with a 3D finish, for a beautiful manicure that you can really
make your own. Available in 6 beautiful motifs.
There's two sheets of nail appliques, although only one is pictured. |
The kind that I got was 06 Bow-quet, and the website claims
that they can last up to 10 days (we shall test that).
I had never tried these before, even though they have been
around for a couple years now. I was a little apprehensive about how difficult
they would be to put on. I have a hard time painting my nails with my
non-dominant hand, so I figured that these would be a nightmare. Still, since I
had them, I figured I would give them a try.
In the package, you get 18 appliqués in various sizes so
that you can get the perfect fit to your nails. It also comes with a cuticle
stick and a little nail file. They were a lot easier to put on than I had
expected. You peel them off of the plastic sheet, smooth them onto the nail
(the blunt end of the cuticle stick was great for this), and trim them. It took
less time to put them on than it usually takes to paint my nails, and they look
fantastic. I especially love that there is zero drying time. As soon as they
were on, I started cooking dinner and didn’t have to worry about smudging them.
I usually paint my nails in the evening before I go to bed, and I almost always
ruin one. It’s nice that it isn’t a concern with these.
These are really neat. They are a really cute floral
pattern, and I like the intricacy of the adorable pattern. I think the bow is a
little extraneous. You can’t really see it unless you’re looking closely, so it
seems unnecessary. If it was maybe a more contrasting colour, that might help amp up the wow-factor.
You also can’t really see the individual flowers unless you’re really looking,
but it gives it almost a pixel-y splashed paint effect that I don't mind at all.
In terms of 3D, the
bow is raised above the surface of the nail, giving it a dimensional effect. It’s
really cool and gives your nails a little bit more oomph. I ended up using a top coat just to seal them on a little better,
and it still is obviously raised up.
These guys retail for around $11 in Canada, which is a
little bit much for me to do all the time, but for a special occasion or an event,
I think these are amazing. Also, I was trying to think what to do with the
eight extra appliqués in the package, and I think that you could use them as
accent nails with a different polish as well. This could be especially useful
if the full on floral is maybe too much for you.
The Runway Collection will be released soon into a store
near you. Are you planning on any bold new nails for spring?
