FLARE Mani-Pedi Topbox
A few days ago, I received the Topbox FLARE magazine mani-pedi box. I almost never do my toes though, so this is pretty much a mani-only set for me. It has six
nail polish shades, as well as some extras, all of which I’ve tried out and
reviewed below.
Put your best feet (and hands) forward this spring
with nail shades hot off the international runways. This deluxe kit, which
includes six high-coverage, quick-dry polishes, a cuticle cream and a
nourishing top coat, is guaranteed to upgrade any mani or pedi while care and
application tips from FLARE’s beauty team will keep your nails looking their
best all season long.
L-R: Tickle Me Pink, Strawberry Shields, Trouble Maker |
Tickle Me Pink
This is my favorite polish out of the six. It’s the
only one that only required one coat to be completely opaque. I feel it’s more
of a red than a pink, but it’s still gorgeous. I wore this one, and it did chip
super fast without a topcoat, so you will definitely want one.
Strawberry Shields
Strawberry Shields is a topcoat made of both microglitter and red hex glitter. It takes a few coats to get any kind of coverage, and I feel like you’d be working all day to make this opaque, so you’re probably best off just wearing this over some other shade. I think it would be really pretty over Tickle Me Pink or maybe over a navy polish.
Trouble Maker
This is a vampy plum purple. It’s a true purple,
not too red or too blue. It doesn’t seem very spring-y to me, but I’m sure it
will make an appearance some night.

L-R: Get Juiced, I Lilac You, Jaded |
Get Juiced
I have this on my nails right now. It’s a beautiful bright papaya-melon color. I’ve gotten
so many compliments. It also makes for a nice pop of color because I usually
wear cooler tones.
I Lilac You
Lilac is a huge trend for spring, and I love it.
This polish looks lilac under some light, or maybe grey sometimes, or possibly
off-white. I like that it’s versatile to whatever you’re wearing and the
setting you’re in.
Jaded
Mint green polishes are incredibly easy to find
right now, and I own more than one. This one is a little bit different because it’s
very sheer so it creates a milky wash of color. It’s much more pastel than many
other greens, so it works better as a neutral.

Cuticle Eraser and Balm
I’m the lucky person that doesn’t need to do much
with my cuticles. I push them back before I paint my nails, but that is really
it. This does moisturize around your nails if you are having some dryness
there, but I can’t comment on its cuticle removing power. It doesn’t have a
smell at all, which is something I’m a big fan of. It takes quite some time to
absorb into the skin, so your fingers are kind of greasy for a while. Would I
get this again? Probably not, but it doesn’t suit my needs.
Dry and Go Drops
When I saw these, I got excited. I am so impatient
when it comes to my nails. This stuff seemed like a miracle. You add a drop to
each nail using the convenient dropper, and supposed they’re dry to the touch
in 60 seconds and completely dry in 2 minutes. I say supposedly because I think
that it’s not exactly true. My nails dry faster when I use this. This is
definitely true. Completely dry in 2 minutes? Not a chance.
Nail File
I’m not particularly brand loyal to my nail
products, but I’m a staunch Revlon girl when it comes to my nail files. This
one has a nice pattern, but it’s not particularly good.
So Susan 8-Hour Cheek
Stain
As a bonus, I had got this So Susan Cheek Stain. It
is really bright, but you can build it up, so it’s easy to only use a light
touch on each cheek for a less outlandish look. As far as I can tell, this only
comes in one color. I actually prefer to put it on before my foundation to
dilute the color a little. Once it’s on, it’s really on. They aren’t kidding
when they promise 8 hours of wear. You’ll get every moment of it.
Well, my nails are in
good shape for the spring now!
What do you use on your hands to get them ready for
spring?
