2014 Gift Guide: Dad
Dads are pretty
much irreplaceable. Mine has scraped my car off for me every day for
the past week (since we started getting snow!) without me asking.
Let's show dad that we care this holiday season with some unique and
special gifts.
Festive Sprouts
My dad has a little
bit of a green thumb and is probably the only person I know who
actually enjoys Brussels sprouts. Let him try out growing his own with
this Brussels Sprout growing kit!
Weatherproof
Umbrella
Yes, something
practical. This umbrella isn't cheap, but you won't need another one
forever. It can withstand 100kmph winds without flipping inside out
and is made of fibreglass. Your dad is already thanking you,
especially if he's a golfer.
Grooming Kit
Dad needs something
manly, but also good. Enter Kiehl's. Kiehl's only makes good
products. Seriously. Treat the old man with this. The name is the
Men's Refueling Kit so it already sounds as butch as you can
get, but the stuff in here is really fantastic. Like your typical
lady, the Facial Fuel Energizing Scrub is one of my favorites,
and it will be one of his too.
Survival Kit
What are the
chances that your dad is going to need a survival kit? Well, in
Montana, it's probably better safe than sorry. And if you need some
survival, who better to get it from than Bear Grylls. Great to keep
in your car for little jobs that could use a multi tool or for
camping trips.
Fitbet Flex
For the dad on the
go, the FitBit flex is my favorite fitness tracking thing over the
Jawbone or Nike Fuelband. It's a great gift for an active dad or one
who is hoping to get more active.
Watch
Every year I say
the same thing: guys need to have a nice watch. For one that is a
nice halfway between classy and sporty, I like the Aeroflite
Multifunction Leather Watch from Fossil. It's classy looking, but
won't look out of place on casual day either.
Box Set of a TV
Series He Missed
My dad missed the
boat on Breaking Bad, so this year, he'll be getting the full series.
Maybe not this show, but there has to be something your dad can binge
watch, right? Even if it's Matlock.
What are you getting your old man
for Christmas/holiday giving time? Is it socks? A kindle? Let me
know!
