Golden Globe Fashion Recap 2015

It's that time of the year again, where we get ready for the parade of arthouse movies and beautiful gowns. Last night was the Golden Globes. I did not watch, admittedly, because I was out watching some Golden Globe nominated movies. I immediately came home and looked for the winners and the best dressed. Here are my favorite best dressed folks, in no particular order.

Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick is like a real life princess. She definitely channels that look with this marvelous tulle skirt with beading.

Kate Beckinsale

I didn't realize that Kate Beckinsale was relevent again, but here she is looking fantastic. Sparkle seemed to be the theme this year on the res carpet. She went understated with classic jewelry and a high sleek updo, which made it really wearable and lovely.

Helen Mirren

It's easy to look beautiful when you're young and thin, it's another to be a little older and to still maintain elegance. Helen Mirren is the definition of aging with grace, always dressing nicely and to her age,

Amy Adams

Amy Adams is on a real roll with awards season. When she won lat night she wore this beautifully draped blue gown. It made her glowy skin and vibrant red hair look especially lovely. I am also a sucker for old Hollywood waves.

Kerry Washington

Kerry takes great fashion risks, and looks great in pink. What got me the most about this one was the texture. I think that if it had been a flat sating, I wouldn't have liked it as much. It's an unusual choice, but a beautiful one.

Alison Williams

Alison Williams hasn't been my favorite on the red carpet. I feel like she is frequently close but no cigar. I love this red gown though. She's so pale that the red really looks magnificent against her skin. This was also a year of neutral gowns and she stood out so much.

Sophie Hunter

Sophie Hunter exploded onto the red carpet about five minutes ago when she had her surprise engagement to Benedict Cumberbatch. I have been unimpressed with her so far. She's beautiful and smart, but she was still finding her style. I loved this look on her. The empire waist is the friend of many expectant ladies and the print is gorgeous and seasonally appropriate. And look at her glow!

Conchita Wurst

I was trying to decide whether I liked this or not. I decided I loved it. The double breasted coat-dress with the split revealing bodice does her so many favors. She also has hair that I will be forever jealous of. Yes, I know it's a wig, but look at that! If you ignore the beard, she's anyone else on the red carpet.

Dakota Johnson

I'm still not going to see Fifty Shades of Grey, but the star of the show is sparkling up the red carpet. I like that the top and the bottom are equally made of diamonds but the texture changes to break it up. It's so over-the-top, but she tones it down so well so it's not crazy.

Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger always goes toned down, and this year is no different. Perfectly tailored, perfectly sparkled, perfectly polished.

Emma Stone

My last pick is another one that I wasn't sure about. Some more sparkle of course, but pants? I think that because it's Emma Stone she can pull it off. It's a risk, but one that paid off.
