Campus Voxbox
I got a Voxbox in the
mail from Influenster a few days ago. It’s been some months since my last
Voxbox, so I was really excited to get to try this one out. This one is the
Campus Voxbox, aimed at giving college students a nice little goodie bag just
in time for exams. There are six items in the box, so let’s talk a little about
them.
Jergens Natural Glow
Instant Sun Sunless Tanning Mousse
Okay, so I’ve never
had any luck with the sunless tanning mousses. St. Tropez did nothing for me,
neither did any of the cheaper knockoffs. I’m whiter than a polar bear in a
snowstorm, so it’s not like I’m not trying. I use the gradual tanners and those
seem to work for me, but they take days and days, and I can’t shave my legs in
the meantime. Still, I tried this one because I am starting to break out the
skirts and the shorts a little more now that it’s getting to be a bit warmer.
It was awful. Streaky cheeto-tone skin. I was just maximally unimpressed. I
would not recommend this to anyone. It goes on patchy and streaky (and I know how to do fake tan) and oh-so-orange,
and then when it fades…oh god…so uneven. Do not get this. Do not see this and
think that you will try it. Just do not. Try their gradual tanning lotion
instead, but that’s all.
St. Ives Blemish
Control Apricot Scrub
I used this
religiously when I was in high school and into my first year or two at college.
I can’t remember why it got cut from my routine, but I am happy to be reunited
with this. It is a fairly harsh scrub, so I can’t use it more than once or
twice a week, but it’s great for an all over exfoliation at the start of the
week.
L’Oreal Paris Advanced
Straight System
I’ve heard good things
about this, and I’m on a straight-hair kick right now, despite trying to be
nicer to my hair. This stuff was just okay. I found that it weighed my hair
down really heavily, but it did make it straighter and let the straight last
for longer than usual. So, there you go. A little good, a little bad.
Softlips Cube
I go back and forth on
the EOS lip balms. I think they’re great, I think they suck. One or the other.
It’s hard to say. This is a similar product, only from the brand Softlips. I
like this one so much more than the EOS ones! The taste is great and it
actually lasts. Plus it has some SPF, which the EOS ones do not. I’d pick this
over any of the EOS balms.
Sour Punch Straws and
Sour Punchies
These were thrown in
as a tasty treat. I’m a little bit beyond the sour patch kids portion of my
life, but I do enjoy the occasional treat. I liked the straws better than the
punchies, but these both were gone in a flash.
