Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation
I have been hearing a ton about the
Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation, so it seemed like it was time
to give it a try. It started to be marketed around this time last year, but by
the time it hit my radar, it was not the right time of the year for light
coverage. We’re back to summer, and so it’s time to break out the lighter
coverage stuff.
I had heard that this was a dupe for the
YSL Fusion Ink Foundation, and I just so happened to have a sample of the YSL
foundation kicking around. I think that saying they’re a dupe is a little off
because the color ranges are different. I find that the Maybelline version
definitely pulls more yellow, which is great for me, but probably not as great
for some of you. Just something to keep in mind. Besides that, the consistency
is so very similar that they are close enough to be part of the same line. Definitely check it out if you’re looking for something a little (or a lot)
cheaper than YSL.
This foundation is super runny, but still
manages to give a medium level of coverage. If you’re looking for a heavy or
full coverage foundation, this isn’t it. I don’t have a problem with the sheer
coverage, and it gives you a great natural look. I can still see freckles and
my skin looks like skin. It looks fabulous on, and I can already tell
that it’s going to be a staple for me.
I hate the packaging on this. Hate hate
hate. It doesn’t have a pump, instead, it has this silly little tear-shaped
dropper. It is so terrible. I don’t know whose idea that was, but it was a bad
one. If you aren’t careful, the foundation just gets everywhere. It’s
ridiculous and makes me want to put this into some other container. Any other
container. Because it’s so runny, although it feels great on the face, does
tend to get icky around the neck of the bottle.

The packaging is really my only complaint
about this. With the applicator, it becomes easiest to apply this with fingers.
With a brush, I can see it getting really messy in a hurry. I dot it on my face
with the crappy applicator and then blend out using a damp beauty blender.
I can see myself finishing this up, but I’m
still not totally sold on the packaging at all. I think perhaps I just need
some more getting used to it.
You can see me try this on and give you my
first impressions in the video linked below.
