Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer Comparison | Matte v Gloss
The Rimmel Show Off Lap Lacquers (Apocolips
for those of you outside the US) are some of my favorite lip products in my
stash. They are really fabulous and dry to a great semi-matte finish, and stay
put through whatever you throw at them (eating, drinking, kissing…all of it).
I have both the regular lacquers and the
Velvet version, and I know that some people have asked about the differences
between the two of them, so I thought I would do a quick comparison of the two.
The packaging on these is same. The labels
are slightly different (obviously), but how you get the product out is the
same. It has a doefoot applicator with a little well in the middle that holds
just the right amount of product. There is also a well at the top that lets you
know if someone has used the product before. It’s clear when you get it, but
fills with product after the first use.
In terms of difference, I don’t see much of
a difference in the way they look. They’re both fairly matte, but not quite.
The big change is in the way they fill. The Velvet versions do feel…well…velvety.
It’s hard to describe. For being matte, they’re also not drying, so that’s a
plus.
So, if you’re worried about the matte
texture, don’t be. Pick up either version, just let yourself be ruled by the
color and not the finish.
