Best Bite Rewind 2015 | Review
I love when the
holiday sets start coming out. I know that October 5th is a little
too early to be talking about Holiday 2015, but it’s happened. They’re here.
Slowly, the sets are making their way into stores.
I stopped by Sephora
to pick up one thing because isn’t
that always the story, and this found its way into my basket.
Presenting the Bite
Rewind 2015. It’s four mini matte crayons in their most universally wearable
shades (says Bite). Those shades are Café, Torte, Coulis, and Aubergine.
Cafe is a brown-nude,
but it pulled more pink on the lips than I was expecting it to.
Torte is a pretty
universal rose color. It’s a charming light pink that you could wear any day.
Coulis is vibrant
raspberry. It’s definitely more berry-toned than a true red lip, so it’s good
for something a little softer.
Aubergine is a
red-purple. It’s definitely not as deep a purple as I thought it would be, as
it definitely pulls more pink-red, but I love it. A very wearable foray into
purples.
In terms of
application, these go on delightfully smooth and provide amazing opaque
coverage immediately. They dry down to a matte, like the name says, but I find
that it’s more of a satin matte. It’s also not nearly as drying as many of my
matte crayons (looking at you Nars). They’re also consistent with the rest of
the line, so if you’re already happy with Bite, you’ll love these too.
The thing that I want
to talk about is the packaging. These four cute little twist-up crayons come in
this little metal tin with a mirrored lid. It’s not only adorable and
convenient – it’s incredibly usable. I don’t usually carry a compact mirror,
and I’m always kicking myself for it. I can see this making its way to living in
the desk in my office with a few touch-up products inside. It’s not huge, but
it’s enough to carry your on-the-go products.
I love these crayons,
and they’re definitely going to be making an appearance in some face-of-the-days
as the days get colder.
