French Minimalism
Good morning! This past weekend I went to the Bastille Day parties that were being held here, in Minneapolis-St. Paul. They were a great time and I have some thoughts to share, but you can scroll to the bottom for those.
First, I wanted to share my look for the day.
I have long admired what I would consider to be traditional French beauty. The soft, glowy skin achieved only through meticulous attention to skincare...the round doe eyes...maybe a red lip. I love it. So, pictures of Audrey Tautou and Coco Chanel and Audrey Hepburn in hand, I set out to achieve that French minimalism, if only for an afternoon.

The key was to keeping everything simple. It's supposed to feel effortless. If you want to see what my entire process looked like, it's in this video below.
Now, here are a few photos from the day. I had a lovely time. Local food, beer, and wine...great friends. It was an amazing day. Unfortunately, Bastille Day has taken on a different meaning for the people of Nice, France, this week. The world can be a scary place sometimes, but I don't think that we should be afraid of doing the things we love, whether it's traveling, going to a party, or putting on your favorite lipstick.
Hope you enjoyed this look, and I'll see you on Wednesday for another post!
