Affordable Glasses Review | Abbe

I feel like at this point, I’m a glasses expert. I’ve been a glasses-wearer at this point for a full 22 years. I don’t wear contacts too often, especially now that we’ve been quarantining and it’s not recommended to wear contacts. Because, you know, eye touching. I recall when I first got glasses, I was so excited to get them. Imagine how much less exciting it is now that I’m an adult who buys my glasses, and the idea of forking out hundreds of dollars for a new pair every year or two. Thankfully it’s slightly less now that my eyes have kind of settled, but styles are still changing faster than my prescription. How can you commit to one pair for years? I can’t.

I like my glasses to be an extension of my face. I like them to match the kinds of outfits I like to wear. I like them to fit in with what I like to look like and how I see myself. But when we’re talking about hundreds of dollars, it’s not economically smart for me to order a new pair for every day of the week. So I tend to buy kind of boring pairs.

Abbe is here to help out with that. I had previously reviewed Firmoo, a similar low-cost eyewear brand, but Abbe really ups the ante. You’re able to actually get a pair of glasses, real prescription glasses, for just the price of shipping to try out. This sounds too good to be true, but is it?

The Good

The glasses available for free are truly free. They do have many other pairs that are not available as part of the promotion as well. I found it very easy to sort by size and shape The selection also covers both trendy and classic designs. The options were also nearly endless after you picked the frames. There are a ton of coating options, accessories, and features that you can add on for a fee. Another benefit is how fast shipping was. Even with the Coronavirus Lockdowns in place and mail delivery going significantly slower, my glasses took a total of seven days to arrive from China to Minnesota. Once they were finished and shipped, it only took three days for them to arrive. They ship in a padded envelope and had no quality problems on arrival.

The Bad

The selection of “free” lenses is quite limited, but I suppose that’s the risk that you run when you’re getting something for the grand total of no-dollars. There also weren’t really any reviews or try-on options, so it really was a shot in the dark.

The Verdict

I love them. They come in trendy and fun shapes but also don’t break the bank. I ended up getting a pretty traditional wayfarer, but I don’t have any glasses like this in my collection. The purchase, shipping, and delivery were all seamless and easy. I’m also thrilled by the quality. I’m not sure what else you’d expect when they’re less than $30 full price. Too good to be true? No, not at all. If you’re interested, you can use this link, to go find a pair of glasses for shipping only.

I want to hear from you. What do you think about affordable glasses brands? Have you tried any? What do you think?

Hey! I used a coupon code to purchase these glasses at a reduced rate. My opinion reflects my experiences with this company, and I would gladly pay full price in the future.
