A Full Day of Appreciation

Valentine’s Day is over, but every once in a while, there’s a special day where you just need to put the romance and appreciation back in the air. Birthday, anniversary, whatever…I’ve made this total itinerary for someone who is working a usual day, but still wants to celebrate. It’s also designed to be totally on the cheap. The whole thing comes in at less than $50 for two.

7:00am – Breakfast. Two eggs, toast cut into the shape of a heart.

7:45am – Off to work! Tuck a note inside their coat pocket for them to find later.

12:00pm – Midday phone call! Let them know that you’re thinking of them.

5:00pm – Stop at the grocery store! Tonight, you’re making roast chicken tonight. Grocery list here – everything you need to make this recipe. You should also pick up a dessert kit. Betty Crocker makes little boxed dessert mixes for two people for under $2. You can jazz it up with a can of redid-whip or icing. Pick a wine you won’t mind drinking either.

6:00pm – Cook up your tasty dinner! Even better if you do it together.

8:00pm – Night is closing down! Curl up with a movie (Redbox is only $1, if you don’t have Netflix or Prime or Hulu). The last thing is to, of course, exchange gifts. If you want to get a gift, definitely do! If there is something that your partner loves and you can splurge, do it! If money is tight though, a great gift is acts of service. Does she hate doing the dishes? You can do them for the next two weeks. Does he haaate cleaning the bathroom? Then you should do that next time. Handyman-type activities that need to take place around the house? Get it done!

And there you have it! A quick and easy perfect date for any time, from start to finish. I am a firm believer that love does not need to be expensive and today is a great day to show your partner that.
