Everyday (Realistic) Makeup for Work

I have a real, normal 9-5 job. I’m not living that “digital nomad” life, or anything like that. Instead, I’m getting up at 6am, and going to work. I’m not doing really elaborate eye looks or anything like that, and I think it’s important to share what the real-real looks like. Don’t get me wrong, I bathe in glitter all weekend, but some of us have to roll in to work looking profesh at some point.

So, first thing in the morning, after skincare, I need some primer. I love The Ordinary High-Adherence Primer. I also totally bought into the hype and bought the L’Oreal Freshwear Foundation. It’s really good, but I find that it can look cake-tacular unless I add in a little facial oil. I have been using the Mario Badescu Rose Hip Oil. I mix equal parts of both, and it gives me really flawless coverage, but without the cakiness. On my cheeks, I dust up some Nars Orgasm Blush, as well as a little bronzer in the contour-y areas. For bronzer, these days I’m using Benefit Hoola Bronzer.

I typically don’t use concealer day-to-day (whaaaat) beause I don’t think it looks great in person, but looks great on camera. Because my job is in-person, I just use foundation on my undereyes, then dust them with Bare Minerals Mineral Veil Setting Powder for a little extra coverage and smoothing.

On the eyes, I’ve been using two eyeshadow sticks for an everyday look. The first is the Laura Mercier CAviar Stick in Rose Gold, all over the lid, and then a little bit of a darker color in the crease. For the crease, I’ve been using the Mally Eyeshadow Stick in Burnished Bronze. Top the whole thing off with two coats of Wander Beauty Mile High Club Mascara. I just brush through my brows with Benefit Gimme Brow in shade 3. I don’t want Insta-brows for every day, so this works.

Finishing off the whole look, my #1 most worn lipstick is MAC Syrup!
