Bring on the Fallidays
Halloween is over, as of tonight. That means it’s time to bring on the wonder that is the holiday season. Most people think of this as winter, but for me, it’s the long buildup to Thanksgiving break. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. We still celebrate Christmas, but in our weird interfaith home, this is about as strange a holiday as is possible.
Anyway, now that Halloween is over…bring on that fall baking. Charles bought me a Kitchenaid mixer for my birthday in the spring, which meant I didn’t have it for last year’s baking season. This year I am firing that thing up! Today, I mixed up a wonderful batch of tasty gingerbread cookie dough.
I’ve had the Kitchenaid for a while, but the game-changer for me is one of those paddles that scrapes down the sides. I didn’t get a name-brand one, instead I got one off of Amazon, but I love it. It takes that extra scraping step out of the mixing process. Is this is the most boring, adult thing ever? Maybe. But it’s great.
Anyway, Cait, why are you making this post? I’m so glad you asked. I want your favorite fall recipes. I’m looking to update my recipe book!
Let me know!
