March Favorites 2017
I’ll be one of the first people to tell you that makeup and I have had an unhealthy relationship in the past. Maybe we still do. One thing that has always made me feel better is buying new makeup. This is especially harmful when I’m feeling depressed, as I have been lately for reasons I’ll discuss in tomorrow’s post. Recently, I’ve been trying to break this cycle of sadness-shopping by shopping my stash. I don’t really have a monthly favorites right now because of just how March has shaken out, but here are a few things I have been loving lately.
Trestique Mini Shadow Crayon in Aspen Pine
This is one of my favorite eyeshadows because it’s so effortless. When it’s a real hassle to even get out of bed on time, I can smudge this on, sometimes even when I’m stuck in traffic. It’s also a nice olivey green, so it’s not as harsh as black.
Nyx Individual Eyeshadow in Heat
This is one of my favorite eyeshadows to use in the fall, but also in the spring, especially since warm eyes are still in fashion. It’s so easy to wear, and also highly metallic, so it makes a great statement look too.
Benefit Fake Up in Light
Sometimes I don’t wear foundation. I would like to have time for that…but again…having trouble really getting jazzed up in the morning. Enter the Fake Up. Benefit Fake Up is an oldie, but a goodie. It’s a concealer with a built-in moisturizer. Again, can throw this together quickly in the morning.
Tarte Blush in Entertain
This is an oldie but a goodie for me. I’ve had it for what feels like forever, and it’s still kicking. It’s a pretty pink flush, goes with everything, and makes me look way more awake.
Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadow in Kennedy
Another easy-peasy eye shadow, I like that the Colourpop shadows can be smeared on with a finger and come in a million colors. My favorite right now is Kennedy. It took me a while to warm up to it, especially since I bought it in the winter, but it’s now become a springtime staple.
Origins GinZing Eye Cream
This is one that came from a Sephora Play! box a couple of months ago, but I’ve really been testing it over the past few weeks. I love the fun, citrusy scent, and the slightly brightening effect. It’s going to revive those tired undereyes immediately.
Sally Hansen Color Therapy in Soak at Sunset
I have the awful habit of picking at my nails when I’m stressed or upset. I find that a pretty nail polish sometimes helps with this. I like this one because it helps with flaky, dry nails, with the argan oil formula. I was worried that it wouldn’t wear a long time because of the oil formula, but it stays on for a full five days.
