Get Paid to Travel
Let's talk about how I get paid to travel in my backyard!
I am all about a roadtrip. I love hopping in the car and finding the quirky roadside attractions near me. Visiting small towns and supporting local businesses is my jam, and wouldn't you love to be paid to do that?
Well, now you, yes you, can! I've been working with Shrpa for almost two years currently, and they pay real cash for creators to go to small (and sometimes big!) towns nearby where you live and write about them.
Shrpa is a website specializing in showing off adventures, which are short, less than one-day-long itineraries for destinations throughout the United States. The best part? These are contributed to the site by people like you and me who have been there and found places to love.
How to become a paid creator on Shrpa:
Next, you'll want to create a portfolio of four itineraries for places you've been. You can use areas in your hometown or destinations from your last vacation. Add whatever you have!
After that, you can fill out the Collaboration Information details on your profile and be off to the races! Apply to collaborations that look interesting to you (right now, 25 are available to apply to!) and destinations choose who they want to work with.
Go on your adventure to that destination. You'll need to go to at least 10 locations on your trip, but I aim for 15-20, so I have a lot of material to work with. When you come home, you create four itineraries (called adventures) about the destination you visited. Shrpa then sends them over to the community for review. When they're accepted, you get paid! It's small, but how fun is earning money while on vacation? After a few collaborations, you do get a raise, which is nice. They also either comp a hotel for the night or pay you extra to book your own. Again, no one is getting rich off this, but it can be a fun way to pay to see your state!
Have you heard of Shrpa? Let me know so we can be buddies there!
