Glossybox Advent Calendar | Part III

In case you missed it, I’m bringing all the spoilers for the Glossybox 2020 Advent Calendar. This is Part 3, and if you missed Part 1 or 2, you can click the links to find those!

Glossybox has a beautiful glossy packaging with a marble swirl in pink and rose gold foiling. It looks expensive. It feels expensive, with thick cardstock and a magnetic closure showing off four drawers of goodies. But while it looks expensive, it’s not a bank breaker. It retails for $99 ($89 for current subscribers) and has a total retail value of over $550. That’s insane. Hard to argue with that!

If you’re interested in picking one up, I know it can be nice to have a few spoilers. I’ll be breaking down the spoilers in four chunks, otherwise, it will be the world’s longest blog post! So today we’ll go for days 7-12. If you’re not here for those kinds of spoilers, the basics are that this box contains 25 separate beauty treats (14 full-size and 11 minis) from brands including Wander Beauty, Nails inc, Tarte, Rodial, and Iconic London.

So let’s review!

Days 13-18

Day number 13 is the Vit C Brightening Cleanser from Rodial (deluxe mini, $10). Rodial is another “grownup” brand that always makes me feel fancy and adult in a way that I always aspired to when I was 19 and broke. This is a very nice serum. It feels slightly cooling when it’s on, and has a really nice orange scent. It feels lovely and luxurious and I will definitely consider repurchasing. The next item is the Wander Beauty Mile High Club Mascara (full size, $26). This is my current favorite mascara. I’ve been using it for almost three years now, and every time I use something else, I end up coming back. I love it. It never smudges for me and gives me killer lashes. It’s my go-to whenever I want to feel really put together.

Item number three is the 111Skin Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask ($32, one mask). Is this the most expensive face mask I’ve ever used? Yes. Is it the best face mask I’ve ever used? No. It's pretty average. I like the way it feels, much like many other wonderfully luxurious masks, but I’ll never spend the cash on buying another. A wonderful splurge after a bad day at work or before a special occasion though!

Evio Beauty Cleansing Hemp Wipes ($10, 15 wipes) are included and I as a rule don’t use makeup wipes anymore. I’ll be throwing these into my travel bag if we can ever travel again, but I don’t use makeup wipes anymore on thee daily because of personal waste. Saving these for later!

One thing that the pandemic has absolutely done to me is making my hands pretty scaly. You know, that hand sanitizer life, especially working at a school. The next item in the advent calendar is this Crabtree & Evelyn Smooth + Refine Body Lotion (deluxe mini, $4 for 15mL). This is the perfect size to toss in my bag for work and hopefully fight off a little of the scalies.

The last one, for now, it’s the KVD Vegan Beauty Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in San Sangre (full size, $21). There was a while where everyone was off KVD because of its namesake association, but she’s totally out of the picture on this brand and doesn’t make any money off of them. That is enough for me to renew my support of the brands. These liquid lipsticks are the gold standard in stay-on-all-day. This is a great red lip for wearing under a mask because it’s still there and hasn’t smeared onto your face or your mask while you’ve been away from the mirror.

That’s it for now! The total value for these products is $103, and we can add that to our running total from part 1…so so far, I’ve opened up $411.44 in value. You can shop these things below, and I’ll be back in a few days with our final part, #4!
