Glossybox Advent Calendar | Part IV

In case you missed it, I’m bringing all the spoilers for the Glossybox 2020 Advent Calendar. This is Part 4 (the last one!), and if you want to go back you can find parts 1, 2, or 3 by clicking the numbers.

Glossybox has a beautiful glossy packaging with a marble swirl in pink and rose gold foiling. It looks expensive. It feels expensive, with thick cardstock and a magnetic closure showing off four drawers of goodies. But while it looks expensive, it’s not a bank breaker. It retails for $99 ($89 for current subscribers), and has a total retail value of over $550. That’s insane. Hard to argue with that!

If you’re interested in picking one up, I know it can be nice to have a few spoilers. I’ll be breaking down the spoilers in four chunks, otherwise, it will be the world’s longest blog post! So today we’ll go for days 7-12. If you’re not here for those kinds of spoilers, the basics are that this box contains 25 separate beauty treats (14 full-size and 11 minis) from brands including Wander Beauty, Nails inc, Tarte, Rodial, and Iconic London.

So let’s review!

Days 19-25

I feel like it doesn’t matter how many eye brushes I have. A few more are always welcome! LA Splash Cosmetics Duo Brush Set (2 brushes, $15) came in Day 19 and they’re fine. They aren’t great. The construction is pretty flimsy, but the bristles are soft and in a nice shape. I’ll have to use these a bit more and give them a wash to cast judgement, but so far they seem perfectly acceptable.

The First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser (deluxe mini, $5) was day 20 and is something that I already use! It’s not a very severe cleanser, and is more on the gentle side of the spectrum. I like the way it feels and am happy to have this one. Truth be told, my husband ended up using it more than I do.

For day 21, I got the The Beauty Crop Stuck on You Eyeshadow Primer (full size, $16.50). It’s slippery, not so much tacky, which I don’t tend to prefer in an eyeshadow primer. I gae this a try with Day 25’s gift (spoiler) and it worked really well! I am not a big fan of the pot configuration, and prefer a doefoot, but I’ll use this up

I use masks by Hey Honey a few times a month, so getting a new one was exciting. The Hey Honey Sweet Treat Wild Berry & Honey Yogurt Recovery Mask (deluxe mini, $21) smells like a fruit salad and is so smooth and comfortable. My skin has so much moisture after I use it and I will definitely look in to buying another one soon!

The Dr. Pawpaw Tinted Ultimate Red Balm (full size, $8) has been on my to-use list for a while, but I’ve put off buying it for reasons that aren’t necessarily understandable to me. This is a nice balm. I would probably only use it on my lips. I don’t use stuff like this on the rest of my face, but it’s smooth and moisturizing and only has a tiny bit of tint.

I received the Nails Inc Victoria Nail Polish (full size, $15). It’s a lovely deep holiday red, and I think it’s really beautiful. I love the Nails Inc polishes, but I don’t wear conventional nail polish often anymore. Because of that, I went ahead and passed this one along to someone else who will use it instead of letting it collect dust.

Finishing out with a bang, the Iconic London Day to Slay Eyeshadow Palette (full size, $62) is in day 25! This palette is very lovely to look at. It’s a collection of 20 neutral shades in beiges and rosey colors. They don’t blend the best, but looks fantastic with some eye primer. I’m excited to keep using this as we move into the new year!
