Minneapois Restaurant Hit List 2021

2020 was the year of no restaurants for us. I mean, not no restaurants but many many fewer than normal, due to obvious reasons. With in-person dining opening back up near us and vaccinations being actively rolled out, I’m looking forward to the prospect of dining in a restaurant again soon. Going to nice restaurants is an activity that Charles and I both really enjoy and one that we have been missing a lot over the past months.

We don’t live in a major city, but we’re lucky enough to be close to one that has a really vibrant restaurant scene - Minneapolis-st. paul. By the end of 2021, one of my goals is to eat at 12 different Minneapolis-area restaurants. So, roughly one per month. I made my list, and I’m excited to try some new places, revisit ones we haven’t been to in some years, and get back to something that I love.

The List

Hola Arepa ($$) - “Serving Venezuelan style arepas & Latin small plates & tropical cocktails.”

Demi ($$$$) - “Demi brings us back to the original purpose of a restaurant: to restore. Located in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis, adjacent to sister restaurant Spoon and Stable, Demi offers a tasting experience that seeks to ignite a sense of curiosity and comfort.”

Excited to try some things out! I’ve already booked some reservations, so, covid-willing, hopefully we can keep them!

Some notes:

Charles is vaccinated for Covid already, and I had Covid in November so we are feeling more ready to broaden our horizons in terms of risk. Make good decisions for you and your loved ones!
