Most Worn Lipsticks - Spring/Summer 2019
It’s summer now! I’ve been pulling away from the muted and vampy colors of winter, and jumping straight into my favorite pinks and bright tones. Here are my five favorite lipsticks that I have been and will keep wearing all summer long.
MAC Brave
Brave is described as pink-beige with a white pearl. I don’t really notice any pearl, so much, more like just a gentle sheen. It’s a satin lip so I expect that eitehr way. I love the MAC lipsticks for their moisture and how easy they are to apply. They just feel so nice, and there’s something so iconic about MAC packaging. It’s always felt like a grown-up luxurious experience. As someone who wears Syrup pretty much every day, I’ve been making the transition to using Brave about as much, and it’s beautiful and flattering.
MAC Powder Kiss A Little Tamed
Okay! Another MAC lippstick. The Powder Kiss line was something that I didn’t think I would like, but I hace completely come around on it. They’re matte with no shine, but also don’t cling to dry patches like regular matte lipsticks. My favorite shade is A Little Tamed, which is a warm coral. I love matte lipsticks, but this a great compromise for summer, when I want something lightweight and comfortable.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in Kristen
I know it’s a lip gloss, but it’s so pigmented it might as well be a liquid lip. Kristen is a medium rosy color with brown undertones. It’s a one-swipe opaque lip gloss. IT also doesn’t settle, and lasts a pretty solid 5 hours which I’m impressed with for any lip gloss. It also looks great over lipsticks too.
Revlon Color Burst Balm Stain in Romantic
Pretty sure I bought this to match a dress I was wearing for a hot date. These were so popular a few years ago, and I think they’re still worth taking a look! This is a light, semi-transparent red. It looks so flattering and rosy-red. Perfect for when I want to wear a red lip, but I also don’t want to worry about keeping up with a high-maintenance lip color. These are also the world’s most comfortable lipstick known to man.
Bare Minerals Generation Nude Lipstick in Dahling
This is a lipstick, but it goes on like a gloss. It’s thick and opaque and a nice rose brown. It looks super gorgeous and shiny, but lasts a solid four hours.
Those are the lipsticks that I’m loving right now! They’re also the only lipsticks I left out when I packed up my makeup to move to our new apartment.
