Nordstrom Sale Picks 2020

Well, here we are, over a year later, and talking about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale again. I want there to be some disclosure here…I’m not a huge Nordstrom shopper. There are a few things I’ll pick up here and there, but for the most part, I save my shopping there for this one time of the year. As a result, the things I want to buy are…basic. That’s kind of the name of the game. I think that this sale is the best time to pick up a few things that need replacing or restocking.

Let’s talk about what you should buy.

Underwear, shapewear, and pajamas

I’m going to be purchasing another set of my favorite shapewear for under dresses. It gives me a little extra security when I’m teaching and smooths everything out. Also pretty much the only underwear I like (Hanky Panky) and a new bra or two from my preferred brand (Natori). The Nordstrom pajamas are also so soft and durable and worth the buy.

Statement houseware

Some of the cutest most interesting housewares are on sale, and worth the jump. Some bits that I’m most excited for is a cheese knife set and a new electric kettle. We don’t have a kettle, and microwaving water for tea is not cutting it for me anymore. I also linked our barware set that has been THE BEST and my favorite candles.

Fashion basics

I’m mostly in need of replacing some (very boring) staples. I picked out a navy skirt and a black one. I wear these a lot to work and just need to restock. I also LOVE the Barefoot Dreams cardigans and it’s a great opportunity to rotate out some of my more loved pieces for something a little newer and a little higher quality. I also have been in the market for a leather tote to take back and forth to work and found a cute one from Madewell.

A few fall work clothes.

I fell in love with a few different pieces for a fall as well and added them to my basket. I had my eye on a few cardigans (I know, how predictable) and a nice dress. I also found a bodysuit or two that I’m interested in. A shirt that never comes untucked? Sign me up! I also have my eye on a new down jacket from Patagonia for the winter I’m seeing coming at us, and taking the plunge on a pair of faux-leather leggings! I always admire them and feel like I’m finally ready to buy a pair.
