Sephora Play! March 2017

I recently received March’s Sephora Play! and unboxed it live on my Instastory. I promised I’d have a more detailed review once I had some time to play, and here it is! This month’s theme is Get in the Glow, which is something I already have an extensive blog post on! Either way, glowing, healthy skin is something that I love, and I’m excited to see Sephora get in on it too.

Technical stuff:  Sephora Play! costs $10 a month, there’s no shipping charge, and you get five deluxe samples from Sephora, plus a perfume sample. Side note: there’s no affiliate links for Play!, so you can click on the link below without apprehension!

After a few months of “unique” bags, we’re back to plain printed cotton. I like the neon print that they’ve chosen, and it fits the theme perfectly. This month, Sephora is going all out on all things glittery, glowy, and sparkly. Swatches are at the bottom :)

In my box this month:

GlamGlow Mega Illuminating Moisturizer

A new month, a new moisturizer! I am loving the number of moisturizers that I get in these boxes. I know that not everyone is into that, but I find it so helpful to be able to try these higher-end brands. I love GlamGlow masks, but they’re starting to branch out. This is super glowy, and if you had oily skin, that might be kind of scary. For those of us combo-to-dry girls though, it’s amazing. It also doesn’t seem to break me out, or cause my foundation to slide.

Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm

I wasn’t exactly sure how to use this, but through some trial and error, I think I’ve found it out. I love Josie Maran and I’m a constant user of Argan oil. This is something different though. It’s a balm or cream consistency. The info card says that it’s okay to use before or after applying makeup. After trying both ways, I think that putting it on after makeup is the best way. IT goes on very smoothly and silicone-y, and has a matte finish. At the same time, it is glowy. It’s difficult to explain how it is both matte and glowy, but it works, including for my dry-skin ladies.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal

This is a product that I already have a love. I find that Opal is a little dark for me, except when I’m a little more tan. If your skin is a few shades darker than mine, then it might be a good shade choice for you. Unlike the Josie Maran balm, this is shiny, and not matte at all. I like to either mix this into my foundation, especially if its too light for me, or to tap it onto the highlightable areas of my face. A little also goes a long way, so the little tube is going to last and last and last.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Big Bang

Two most important things for a lipstick: formula, and color. I hadn’t tried this formula from Urban Decay. I had used some of their now-discontinued lipsticks and loved them. Vice is new to me, but I love the formula. It’s smooth and creamy and stays on a long time. Color…this is a metallic hot pink. It’s achieved through a lot of chunky glitter. Putting this on makes me feel like I’m putting on the makeup that came with Barbie dolls in the early 2000s. Do I love it? Yes. Charles doesn’t though, haha.

Verb Ghost Oil

This smells kind of like Dawn dish soap, but seems to be a fairly normal hair oil. I like to use hair oil when I haven’t washed my hair in a few days, because my roots get oily and my ends get dry. Mix and match dry shampoo and hair oil for an easy fix. I like this, but I don’t think I would purchase it over any other hair oil.

Atelier Cologne in Clementine California

Atelier Colognes are my favorite. They are pretty unisex, so my boyfriend doesn’t hare these are much. This scent smells like floral orange oil, and lasts a super long time. The only downside to the fresh scent is the cost…these are incredibly expensive perfumes, compared to how much you get. The perfumes are always hit and miss, but because they’re essentially a “freebie”, I’m always excited when it’s something that I love.

This month, I can honestly say that I’m going to be using all of the things that I received. It was a total winner. Compared to last month, this month was a huge winner. The total value of this box was $52, and it cost $10. If you’re interested in trying out a Sephora Play! box, you can check it out here.
