Summer FabFitFun
One of the subscription boxes that I love more than any other is my FabFitFun. It comes only once a quarter, (check out the past spring box!) so I feel like they hit it out of the park every time. This month I received the summer edition, and I am excited to say that it was awesome as always. Here's what was inside.
What Everyone Gets
There are a few items that no one gets any kind of choice about. The first is the Invisibobble Original Dual Pack ($16). This is all that I currently use for my hair. I hav written about my love for Invisibobble before, and it really is something that I love. Extras are always fine by me! The two colors are like a peachy-nude-toned color, and then clear. The box has six in total! I feel like I stash these all over my house, work, and car, so more can’t hurt. Pro tip: when they stretch out of shape, you can hit them with a hair dryer and they shrink back up!
The next item is the Generation Clay Ultra Violet Brightening Clay Mask ($39). This mask is meant for those with general uneven tone or patchiness. The first ingredient (besides water) is kaolin clay, to give skin a deep clean. It also has aloe, witch hazel, and Vitamin E, among other things. It’s very pretty. It’s a completely instagram-worthy product. It also did leave my skin feeling very clear and exfoliated, but also a little dry. If you truggl with dryness already, I’d give this a skip, but oily girls (and boys) might do better!
Everyone also receives the Whish Exfoliating Foot Mask ($32). I hate Whish. I hate all of their products. They didn’t do a thing to me, but I have never had luck with anything I’ve tried! I decided to give this a try. I’m a good blogger, after all, right? This made my feet greasy. What. How does that even happen? No difference in exfoliaton, just now my feet shine with an oil slick. It’s pretty gross. Not a fan.
The last item that everyone gets to have is the Grace & Stella Rose FAcial Spray ($25.95). This just feels indulgent. You know, sitting by the pool in Miami, feeling a little flushed and you reach for a comforting mist of rose. Except I don’t do any of that. I will be using this once in a while to feel that moment of luxury, but I can’t imagine using this regularly.
Choices for All Members
In every box, there’s also some items that every subscriber gets to choose. The first of these choices was a travel-sized blow dryer, a towel shaped like a lotus flower, a kimono “jacket”, or, my choice, the Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream & Brazilian 4 Play Shower Cream-Gel ($45). So I have been eyeign this for a bit. The smell. is. so. great. I love the bum bum cream…but I haven’t been using it on my bum. Are you supposed to?? The shower gel is just fine. It’s not great, but I like it enough. I’ll use it up, and it has that same great smell.
The next item is a 24k gold face mask, a summer tote bag, a felt letter board, or, my choice, a set of three nested bowls from West Elm ($39). Thes are an ikat-like tie-dye pattern, and they are going to look so good on my kitchen counter, or in blog flatlays!
The last set of choices for everyone is between a set of resistance bands for excercise, a star necklace, or a set of silicone wine glasses ($25). I went for the wine glasses. They are sturdy and of good quality, and if it doesn’t get used, they’ll be good for regifting another time!
Choices for Annual Members
If you’re a “select” (annual subscription) member, you get to choose even more things! If you’re not, one just gets sent to you. The first thing I chose was the Living Proof No Frizz Nourishing Styling Cream ($28). I really like Living Proof products, and I really hated the other choice (an Eyeko eyeliner that runs on me), so this was a no-brainer. I find that this does actually reduce frizz, and I love using it on humid days.
The other item that annual subscribers could choose was your selection of one of a trio of skincare items. There was a moisturizer, a sunscreen, and an exfoliator. Charles has been hitting my exfoliator stash pretty hard, so I chos the Intelligent Nutrients Refining Micro Polish ($57). This is a fairly aggressive exfoliator, but I like that. He’s a little less enthused about it, but I don’t mind it a bit!
That's my whole box! The total retail value of my box was $306.95, and I didn’t have the most expensive choices. This was really great, and full of things that I am actively using and happy with, If you're interested, you can pick one up here. The box retails for $49.99 a quarter, and cheaper if you purchase an annual subscription. That link gives me no kickback but will get you $10 off your first box! It also makes a great gift!
