Travel Makeup Bag Essentials
As mentioned in this post, I’m a light packer. That said, I love me some makeup. For my travels this summer, I have created a makeup bag that I never unpack, and is always ready to go, no matter where I’m headed.
Tools
For my most recent trips, I brought some different brushes. I picked three sizes from my Nora’s Brushes set (dupes for the Artis brushes). I also brought my IT Cosmetics Airbrush Angled Liner Brush that I use for my eyebrows, my RealTechniques Contour Brush, and my Elf Cosmetics Spoolie. The only eyeshadow brush that I brought along was the Zoeva 227. I also always bring my Tweezerman Tweezers and some nail scissors. Finally, I packed my Foreo Luna Fofo to keep testing it out.
Skincare
My skin has been changing lately, so I’ve been very deliberate not to switch it up too much. For skincare, I brought my Korres Greek Yoghurt Cleanser and the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water for taking off the day. I also brought two moisturizers. The first is the Biossance Squalene and Probiotic Gel Moisturizer, and the other is the First Aid Beauty Coconut Skin Smoothie Moisturizer. The final skincare item I brought was a good sunscreen. I’m using up a sample of Coola Sport Sunscreen right now. I don’t like it enough to purchase again, but I didn’t get sunburned on any of our hikes so far.
Makeup
Alright, main event. Foundation for me right now is Rimmel Lasting Finish 25Hr Breathable, paired with the matching Rimmel Concealer. For eyeshadow, I packed just one little duo! I was so proud of me. It’s a Smashbox duo of Turned On and Psyched. I also threw in the Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Rust, which is great as a liner or shadow. My other eyeliner, black, is the Clinique Liquid Eyelining Pen. For mascara, I’m using the Loreal Voluminous Feline. I also brought my eyebrows – Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in Soft Brown. I brought a blush, Tarte’s Entertain, and two lipsticks – BareMinerals Swag and Bite Beauty Éclair.
Wow. Seems like a lot. For being gone for almost two full weeks, it covers all the bases without being too much. IT also all fits very comfortably inside of my Yumi Kim Train Case from FabFitFun, with room to spare. If I wanted to add some other things, I could, but I don’t like to give myself too many choices. Travel is already full of decision fatigue, so it’s nice to take one more decision off my plate and worry about just doing the one look for the whole trip.
Your turn! Tell me your travel makeup bag essentials!
I’m off on another trip starting today, with all that in tow.
