The Thaw

The past couple days have been somewhat lacklustre, while still being hideously stressful. After five days of an angelic, snow-covered Halifax, the beauty had to come to an end. The rain held off for four days longer than everyone anticipated, but it has now come pouring down, washing the snow away with it. As a side note, if anyone is looking to buy me a gift, a nice pair of rain boots would be great. Today however, we're back to just being gray and wet, but no rain, and no snow.

The highlight of my day yesterday was getting into a lab as a volunteer. Most of the med schools in the country require an abundance of reference letters, and it's probably best if they come from academic people. So I got in touch with a prof whose work I found interesting, and now I work for her a couple days a week. I'm pretty excited to start :)

My printer died today. With three assignments due in the next two days, that's not particularly good. Luckily the print centre here at the university is pretty cost effective, so I should be able to get by the next couple of days, and maybe get a new printer this weekend. I've had a lot of problems with this printer, but it has lived a good 3 years, which I think is adequate for something that only cost me $18.99. Oh well. The only thing that irks me is how very much ink cartridges cost. How much do they cost to make? If anyone knows, I'm highly interested.
