Blogging Before Bed on a SuperBowl Sunday
It's just about time for bed...glasses on, hair up, and night cream already gracing my pores.
I thought it would be nice to make it an early night. Well, relatively early. The past few nights have been 330-4 am bedtimes, and so I figure aiming for 11 is a worthy goal.
My whole day, quite literally, was spent doing formal lab reports for two of my classes. I've been stressed about them all weekend, but I am really proud of what I accomplished tonight. Now, tonight was the SuperBowl, and I seriously do not think I missed a thing. Personally, I consider the Superbowl to be a giant concert, where the ads and the halftime show are the primary entertainment, and the actual football is the marginal content.
Really, consider it. Why do you watch the Superbowl (if you do)? In Canada, we don't get the ads OR the halftime show on any of the primary networks. I usually look them up online the next day, which I intend to do. And I haven't seen a football game since back when my cousins played in college, more than ten years ago.
Personally, I find the Superbowl to be outdated, even arcane. Reduced to an excuse to drink, eat hot wings, and pretend to care about a sport you didn't actively follow until 4 days before. As well, people regard the Superbowl as being manly, and tough. Real men play football. Oh my, those shiny spandex encased buttocks beg to differ. It astounds me how we live in a world where the male ballerina is effeminate, but those who chase the pigskin around on the field, and experience a lot more guy-on-guy action are definitely masculine. This is a hideous double standard. Oh well. I'd love to hear your opinions, but until then, have an excellent evening.
