Sothys Paris Radiance Gloss

For much of my life, Sothys Paris has been one of those stuffy high end brands that you could only find at my grandmother’s hairdresser. So when I got the opportunity to try out one of their lip products, I was a little bit sceptical about whether I would like it or not. I was not disappointed.

I received a Radiance Gloss in the shade Orchidee. This is the same shade that they are giving away to all of their Facebook fans, if you’d like to try it. Radiant Orchid is also the Pantone color of the year for 2014, so it’s a nice thing to have. The packaging is also gorgeous and of high quality in rose gold and silver.

Made in France, Orchidee is a gorgeous pink with gold shimmer. It looks much more intimidating in the tube than it is on the lips. On, it’s much more subtle and suitable for wearing everyday to any occasion, because it is very sheer. It has a delicate floral scent and lasts all day long (6-8 hours in between applications). It even slightly stained my lips. The best part about it is that it is entirely smooth and not sticky in the slightest, making it perfect for even the busiest days. Sothys also does not test on animals, abiding by EU cosmetic rules, making it a choice you can feel good about.

Although the consistency and wear is really nice, I would wear this over a lipgloss or a lipstain, because ti is quite sheer. I think it would look really nice over a red or a plum, and I think that is how I will be wearing it in the future.

The only problem that I had with this is that Sothys as a brand is kind of difficult to track down. If you want to see the products before you buy, you have to locate a salon or beauty consultant that stocks them, which means calling 1-800-361-3004 or checking their website. Otherwise, finding their makeup collection online is patchy at best, although their skincare line is readily available. You can’t buy it through their website, and have to rely on third parties like Amazon. Still, I am so impressed with this lip gloss that it might be worth tracking down.

Sothys Paris Radiance Gloss retails for $23.
