L'Oreal Canada Mystery Voxbox First Impression

A week or two ago, I got an email saying that I may have qualified to receive an Influenster Voxbox. I've been on Influenster for about six months now. It's a product review sharing site, and every once in a while they send out some new products for you to try, in a spiffy red box called a Voxbox in exchange for social media reviews. This was the first time I had been chosen, so of course I was excited to find out that I qualified.

Shipping on the box was fantastically fast. Inside, there were three unlabelled products from L'Oreal, including a shampoo, conditioner, and split-end serum. This is a two part Voxbox. In the first part, you try out these unmarked samples and guess what the Mystery Brand could possibly be, using the hashtag #MysteryBrand across social media. In a week, we would receive full-sized products confirming if anyone had guessed correctly.

The shampoo is much thinner than most shampoos that I’ve used in the past, while the conditioner is thick and buttery. All three products are the same pastel butter yellow, and have the same sweet hair salon smell. It’s almost like bananas mixed with cinnamon. I really like it, and it lingers in a way that isn’t obtrusive. The two also work like a dream together. I have never in my entire life used a shampoo and conditioner that left my hair so silky as this one did. It’s that kind of soft that you keep having to run your hands through. It’s also incredibly light so you get a ton of volume.  Usually, for me, this translates to a lot of huge curl that I don't really need. This time that wasn't the case. I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome this left my hair. It retains the curl, but it's noticeably softer, and with less frizz. I'm sold. If you have curly hair, this is for you. If you have fine, straight hair, this is also for you. I also noticed when straightening my hair that this left it looking much sleeker than normal. An added bonus.

The split-end serum is also really great. I haven't been using it long enough to tell if it really has prevented damage, but it feels really luxe.  It didn't come with directions on how much to use, besides that it goes on towel-dried hair. I live by the 'go big or go home' philosophy, so I have really been slapping this on in a large quantity. Even when I'm using quite a lot, it doesn't weigh down my hair or make it greasy. It's like there's nothing there, except your hair is shinier and (likely) isn't getting as damaged.

After a quick google search, I am pretttyyyyy sure that this is the L'Oreal Professionel Absolut Repair Cellular line. It's the right color bottle, and it makes sense that the professional series would have that hair salon smell. They also have a split end serum in the collection. I could, of course, be wrong. I can't wait to actually get the samples and see if I got it right!

Were you chosen for the #MysteryBrand voxbox? What are your thoughts?

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
