Moving Ahead
Hey there!
Things have been moving pretty fast around here, like they always seem to do in the summer, and the blog has gotten kind of thrown to the side while that has been happening.
As kind of a general life update, the move to Montana has been really wonderful. I’m happily settled somewhere that I really enjoy living (the city, not my mother’s spare room) and planning out my next few steps.
In actual-update-news, I will not be attending grad school in the autumn, as was the original plan. It’s been an open secret for a while now. Since starting at university four years ago, I have burned through a lot of potential plans. I was going to be a doctor, or a conservation biologist, or a chemist, or a materials analyst, or something else. A combination of things came together and it isn’t the right time for me to go back to school. I’m sure that when the first day of school rolls around, it’s going to feel strange not to be going back too. I am going to take a class or two at a time from the local college to stay ahead of the curve, but it will be a while before I become a full-time student again.
So what’s next? Get a job and join the real world like an adult, I think. I feel terrible about all of the recent grads, many of my friends included, who canot find meaningful relevant work. I happened to get lucky in that sense. I have a job lined up that is exciting and conveniently located and full of fun people. Things have a way of working out just when you need them to.
In the meantime, I’m finishing up my second summer of interning for a great organization. I’m still trying to keep up, but as always, bear with me. I’m working hard to get some interesting posts up over the next couple of weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
Until then!
